*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

...I'm not someone who posts their details online.

And yet it would appear my PSN account got hacked o.O

How on earth does this happen? I havent used my Playstation for about a week, go to log in, password incorrect. Go to the webpage to try and fix it, guess what! Sign-In ID not recognized.

I mean... How!?

That sucks, what did Sony say (assume you spoke to them)?

Get a long USB cable and just play with it wired when you need to.

You don't need a long cable, just plug it into your nearest phone charger or wall socket using a USB plug or into your nearest USB powered HUB.

Or simply rotate 2 controllers.

Or remove the rumble and LED and upgrade the battery if your going to open it up.

Nearest phone charger - that requires plug socket next to me.

I don't have that and not going to pay an electrician to do so. Hell, I even thought about firing up my laptop as a "power source" but then I thought, I am not going to do that every time the pads runs low, that is stupid. As is running another power source off the wall when all I need is a longer cable.

Rotate 2 controllers requires 2 controllers, that cost another £40.

Remove the rumble and LED means gimping the pad. I wasn't willing to open it up to change the stick, what makes you think I would gut out a brand new pad...

vs...

£1 for a USB cable. Job done.

increased battery life?

makes the controller lighter too if you remove the rumble altogether.

cinch actually charge a lot of money to remove rumble and add buttons, etc. so there is a market for it

But the simplest solution is a £1 USB cable......

All the solutions you have proposed is way OTT and utterly bizaare.

The cable solves the problem completely, it costs £1, you can keep playing while it charges, you don't need to remove features out of a brand new pad, it requires no opening up of any kind, you won't risk breaking it, you don't need to use up more power in the house with a new charger, you don't need to buy another pad as spare.

I have a pc headset sienheiser 330 it has two 3.5mm Jacks one for the sound the other for the microphone, how do I connect this to my ds4? Can I use a 3.5 mm dual adaptor or will that not work ?

It's ok Google answered it, need a y cable...

Can anyone with Resogun (most people!!) load it and see if the high scores or ship editor load for you?

Yesterday scores weren't loading (I use the setting that shows the next Frinds score in the HUD). Today I don't even get that far as my Ship slots are empty (I play with a custom ship). PSN itself seems up, but I dont really play (and can't be bothered) to try any other games!

Remove the rumble in the pad?!?

As said already, just buy a long USB cable and connect it to your PS4, why would you butcher your controller

I don't know.. strange thing to do IMO. I use two controllers but only as my bundle included two controllers, otherwise I'd use a long USB cable.

Removing rumble is more to do with making the controller lighter (helps with competitive FPS apparently).

You could just turn it off in the settings which would increase battery life without butchering the controller.

I just mentioned other options which help increase battery life.

Look at cinch controllers for more info on the "remove rumble" option.

Also buying a longer USB cable isn't the cheapest option. Plugging it into a socket nearer you would be as you wouldn't need to spend £1 on a cable (only if you have a socket nearer to you).

Some people's consoles are 4-6m from where they sit (projector or 60+ inch screen).

In that case plugging into a wall socket beside them would be easier/cheaper, I just mentioned all the options, I didn't state you had to do them.

I would hate to have a wire trailing the length of the room to the console and prefer to plug a wire into the socket beside me.

Another option I missed is use a portable charger like the ones people use for their mobile phones. I have a RAV Power charger would last like a week or something non stop plugged into the controller I imagine.

Is there any likelihood of multitasking coming to PS4 such that the PS4 could be used to pay a DVD on the TV whilst gaming on remoteplay?

Highly doubt it. I'd imagine games will be pushing it's processing power to the limit, so there won't be much power left over to run any other tasks.

Also it is a fairly niche request as many people don't even use remote play. Probably cheaper to just get a DVD player off eBay :D

Bump...It's still happening. Could someone spend 2 minutes and check if theirs is the same? If I leave Resogun loaded for about 10-15 minutes the high score and ship sections populate themselves. But as I load the game, each section gives me a "please wait" message. It's like it is taking a horrendously long time to connect to the servers.

Generally I don't care about PSN downtime or other PS4 games atm. But if I don't get my daily Resogun fix, I get grumpy ;)
