Microsoft have already told Blizzard that 900p was unacceptable for Diablo III. So they clearly think it's an issue.
It's certainly a marketing issue.

Because people keep demonstrating that they have no idea what generation means, hence "Herp derp next gen" and "herp derp TRUE next gen" nonsense.
I'll stop when they do, which'll probably be never.
It is pendatry at its worst.
Next Gen to me is 4K/120FPS, we are not there yet, but we will get there eventually, looking forward to the next generation.
Well clearly you don't know what mindless and spam meansIndeed, mindless spam.

This illustrates my point. This is not how generations work at all, but this thinking is what breeds statements such as "true next generation"
Let's ignore what's actually being said and moan pedantry! Yeah, no.
People don't seem to understand that when terms are used so incorrectly as this, they tend to lose meaning for the most part.
There isn’t really a definitive meaning of Next Gen, that’s the reason why I said “to me” before I posted what Next Gen means to me. That is my opinion, so you can’t really tell me that my or anyone else’s opinion regarding Next Gen is wrong, just like I cannot tell you that your definition of Next Gen is wrong also.
No one cares though, and yet you seem to need to post up constantly in any thread that mentions it.
Again. No one cares. All we do think is, 'Oh look here spoffle goes again with his mind-numbing pedantry. '
Its not as if no one knew what was meant, So what does it matter? surprisingly it doesn't...
I have to say, when the PS4 and XB1 arrived I was hoping to see native 1080p and 60fps as the norm. I do feel a bit let down in this respect considering where PC gaming is at now. Don't get me wrong, I understand there's more to it than just '1080p' and some of the games right now look stunning, eg Driveclub but I always thought 1080p/60fps would be the base start point for all games and then see what the devs can squeeze out the hardware.
All these sub resolutions is just a bit disappointing in my opinion, it makes me wonder what the 'next gen' consoles will be like. Will PS5 and XB2(?) actually do native 1080p/60 or higher from the start?
There also is a definitive meaning of "next gen", which has been my whole point. A generation is a step forward in the development of consoles. That's pretty much it. It doesn't have anything to do with specific specs, graphics or anything like that, and there will be multiple generations because your wish of UHD at 120Hz comes true.
