So.... I just bought the 980, after many years on the Red team.
Stupid question, must I use Afterburner to OC ? There doesn't seem to be any facility In The NV Control panel ?

Welcome to green team. Which brand did you buy?

There is nvidia inspector from Nvidia but the all time favorite is Afterburner.

I am using my KFA Xtreme tuner plus since it came with it mostly to see temps but is easy to use for overclocking as well. Maybe the brand you got has a software for it as well. If not go Afterburner

Aha ! So afterburner is everyone's default as it's easier to use ? If that's the case I'll start this evening. Any tips ?

Yer, I use Afterburner.

Not sure on how the 970 and 980 clock but add +100 to the core and click apply. You might want to tick "Unlock voltage control" in the settings to be able to add +83mv (I believe that is the max allowed?). Then try for +150. If it works, go for +200 and if not, back off to +120 etc. Once you have found a stable clock (I run Heaven for stable testing), move onto the memory and do the same but start at +500.

Palit. Cheapest reference I could find so no added features I'm afraid.
AB it is.
Does anyone have any tips ?
