How loud are these?

Going from 480SLI to 970SLI don't want them to be too loud!

Worth it going for the MSI over this? or should I wait for the Galax reference design to be in since that was designed by nvidia and possibly better than the 'radial' palit design...

Save a few quid with these though!

``Radial fan blower design, better for SLI configurations and lower temperatures but at expense of being louder than NV 980 cooler and custom designs``

BLOODY NOISY, but the custom design is still quite cold, so i wouldn't worry about + 4 degrees hotter in SLI.........

Is there any difference between the galax and palit coolers?

Basically I just want a few cheap as chips 970's but not necessarily at the cost of being loud. If they're fairly loud in sli I'd prefer to just get it right first time and get the MSI or something..

The radial blowers are all same! :)
They hum/rumble at low speeds, at higher speeds they just hum.

Not 290/290X ref loud, but you will notice them.

If you want quiet, Palit Jetstream, MSI Gaming, Gigabyte G1/WindForce, EVGA ACX2.0 or Asus Strix! Or 980 Cooler as found on 980 reference cards!

If I remember correctly the Inno3D coolers work quite well in SLI configs. Not sure if that only applies to the HerculeZ X3 (970 has the X2).

HerculeZ coolers are great yes and very quiet on the X2 and X3 stuff. Not tried an X4 yet to comment!

If you like quiet cards at idle then I'd advise against the reference ones. Though under load they're not too bad.

I've got two Palit 970s in SLI. The first thing I noticed was how quiet they were compared to my old 670s. They aren't loud at all, even at 100% fan speeds.

Any major disadvantages that the Palit have vs the 970s of MSI/G1/EVGA? Asking because they're like $100 cheaper here in Asia, and want to understand if there would be performance/reliability considerations.

@Gibbo, have you tried them extensively, and comment on them vs the others? Thanks.

Cant comment, but for $100 less I'd buy the cheaper one, unless silence is a must for you in a graphics card.
