Tell me about it, the Nexus 5 is a joke when it comes to battery life! I have to laugh when people say it's actually quite good, as they are fooling themselves! :p

Ordered the same screen protector as well Mate.

As for the Nexus 5 battery...what can I say? Am sick to death with it as it actually spoils the enjoyment of using the phone. Even with a custom kernel and brightness down to 20% it barely limps through to the end of the day..URGH!!! :mad:
 
What sort of usage stoosh? Tried going back to completely stock, checked battery stats with proper apps?

If I kept the brightness of my n5 set to 20%, I would easily get 2 days of heavy usage!

Mate you've got a magic N5 :p

It's pretty much stock the only mod itself is the kernel everything else is as it should be. Got my brightness set to 20% as well, am literally on WhatsApp most of the day with connection alternating between 3G and WiFi, play a few videos (about 90 mins worth), browsing (60 mins) and music (2 hours) via Poweramp, yet still I get barely a days use. I'm also running ART which is supposedly be kind to the battery, but still have to charge to make it through the day. I was using Better Battery Stats but couldn't determine what was killing the battery though.

hehe, it certainly looks that way going by all the reports here! :D

I suppose it all just comes down to the difference in our usage i.e. the only thing I really use my phone for is browsing, camera, odd youtube video every now and then, emails, phone calls etc. and of course signal strength (I get very good reception)

Should try going back to the stock kernel though, always some annoying niggle with these custom kernels etc. that is why I don't root or mess about with that stuff now.

Nope. Maybe if you turn off all the radios and screen and get Google Now to tell you what you have just pressed through headphones.

The N5 has reasonable drain with the screen off in a strong signal area for radio and WiFi.

Anything else is dire and screen on time is 3-4 hours if you are lucky.

Couldn't wait to get rid. The Z1c is already a very good 6-7 hours screen on, looking forward to see what the z3c does.
 
No it has some improvements over the Z1 camera. Larger lens to let in more light, better low light images, faster focus, faster image capture etc etc.
 
Whoop! Just got my shipping confirmation email from Handtec. They must be going some through their pre orders as I only ordered on the 22nd (after changing colours twice) All being well I should have the magnificent Z3c tomorrow if Royal Mail come through.

I seriously can't wait to put the phone through its paces.
 
funny thing is I ordered this on a whim somebody wanted to buy my Z1 and I was like well i spose. Found this thread and ordered.

I have no idea of the spec only that hopefully the battery life is better lol

hope it turns up tomorrow as I am in most of the day anyhow.
