anyone fancy a kit car?

Gotta say he's done a good job of the bodywork. Still don't understand these though, even average joe off the street can spot they aren't the real deal.

Also anyone seen the size of that spacer? :D

Looks like a good kit that has been done well so far.

For anyone who wants to build one of these it is good value.

Sure it is a fake, but a pretty good one.

I wouldn't consider driving a car with those ridiculous wheel spacers. It's a lazy, thoughtless and wholly inappropriate way of increasing the track by the required amount.

I like the way that hidden in the ad is a comment that the base chassis was "chopped and lengthened". Any of you guys feel comfortable about the idea of trusting your life to a "chopped" car?
Last time I saw a video of one of those in an accident, it just fell in half.

That is something totally dependant on the quality of the work.

If done properly it can be as strong as the original car, if it is just seam welded with no reinforcement I would run a mile.

Like 90% of Kit cars they remain unfinished projects. I was lucky or maybe unluckly enough to help my brother in law build a Lancia Stratos replica in the 1990's.

It was 3 times the original estimated cost on completion and took 3 times as long to complete from the original estimate. About 4 times it ended up on sellers sites as unfinished project but was completed due to lack of a buyer.

It was awesome in the end with the 3 litre Alfa engine. He was an engineer too which meant it was a very high standard.

But I can't help remembering those late nights with me badgering him to bodge this and that just so I could go home to bed, thankfully he didn't give in.

The dedication to build something like this is way beyond me and thankfully put me off ever considering it ever again.

The Stratos was a gem in the end, but sold after just 2 months on the road.
