so, both me and the missus have around 2 weeks off work.
she wants to go away.
we could do with flying out around the 28th sept
she wants somewhere nice and warm(ish) and nice beaches etc.
budget probably something around £600pp

Where shall we go?

im not that fussed tbh, i like there to be things to go and see and do, but not overly adventurous things (id do kayaking, shooting etc etc but i wouldn't go skydiving and such for my holiday)

Ive just come back from Denmark and Sweden so not really looking for a city break, but i would like some culture/tourist attractions.

She likes to relax and sit by the pool.
i like to go out and have a beer in the evening, but not really into clubbing etc.

i would say have a look at some of the island destinations greek islands probably a bit quiet for you unless you go for the biggest ones but a few spanish islands are pretty good for that sort of thing

I'm doing exactly the same thing and going to Aiya Napa in Cyprus. The clubbing is pretty much over by now so it'll just be lovely beaches and quiet pubs!

Looked at lastminute.com, travelzoo and secretescapes? All should have quite a few that tick those boxes. Could get lucky and get something really nice for £600.

I always find a nice little villa in somewhere like Spain/Portugal with it's own pool is a nice shout. You can get some really dirt cheap prices as well on the lastminute sites and the like.

Honest question, why do people travel thousands of miles to foreign countries and then end up sitting by a pool, or lying on a beach?

Isn't this terribly boring?

Obviously not, else people all over the world wouldn't be doing it. For some who have hectic work lives, just being able to turn off, relax and read a book with beautiful views and guaranteed good weather is a very pleasant way to unwind and when you return back home, you actually feel genuinely rested.

Because there are some fantastic beaches with amazingly warm and clear sea outside of the UK.... : /

There is also the pretty much guaranteed hot, clear and sunny weather that you get in certain places abroad as well ( during the summer months).

we can expand our budgets if needs be, but with my heart not particuarly in the trip, im just looking for more of a budget place.
