There is no joke, that's what happens.

Good deal OP - can you get those sets calibrated professionally (as in, has more than the basic consumer picture controls)? I know out of the box it's pretty damn good (bar the input lag and lack of manufacturers lifespan estimates of 1st-gen OLEDs in general), and HDTVTest lurrrrved it. Not sure about the stand though!

Yeah it has full callibration controls, hopefully it gets deliverd on Wednesday and will be calibrated by Saturday
 
Kewl. I'm still a bit concerned that neither LG or Samsung has specced lifespan of their sets - they might get around the blue OLEDs having a poorer lifespan than red or green with the white ones, but it's an issue for all colours compared to other display tech (currently, although LG have just come out with this).

The pricing is probably because LG have just released new OLED sets at IFA, as well as sales. At least they're offering a flat one now too.

I said to myself last year when they hit £2000 I would buy one (didn't think twice when I spent that on my Z1 and Kuro) I just wasn't expecting it to be so soon lol only bought my 55F8000 in April
 
I'm sure you'll love it, as long as you're always watching it dead centre!

My VT65 (plug, plug) should last me till 4K OLED and is still a reference set, just not quite as blackedy black as yours.
 
Excellent price :)

I'm going to try and hold off, but my resolve may crumble!

Give it a couple of years and there'll be massive OLED screens with crazy high resolutions for all.
