hey guys,

so ive just installed my windows 8.1 PRO and im just downloading and installing updates etc atm, but i have a little problem.... i cant fine the dice that came with my motherboard and i also cant find the drivers i need from ASUS's website.

can you guys help me?

my motherboard is a ASUS crosshair V formula-Z.

also, i would like to update my BIOS to the most recent BIOS, how do i do this? is it safe?

thanks

yeh thats what i went onto, but there is nothing on there about chipset, just SATA audio etc

so how do i update my BIOS? i download the new BIOS then what?

Is there much difference between windows 8 and 8.1? You could try the chipset drivers for windows 8?

Save the BIOS file onto a USB stick, enter the BIOS and look for an EZupdate option, it will guide you from there. :)

also, i have a EZupdate on my hidden icons tab in windows, is this the same thing without going into BIOS?

I haven't updated the BIOS through windows before so can't comment, but i updated my BIOS on my Asus board via USB last week and it went fine :)

Ok, so extract files to USB then update in BIOS?

Do i then use my PC as normal after or do i have to do anything else?

Yeah, just let in run through the process, which might involve rebooting a couple of times and the system seemingly not doing anything for a while. Don't switch off or reset if it does this.

The board might revert back to default settings once done so check it's all good.
