Second Tory MP defects to UKIP

Lovely interview on Sunday Politics this morning. They were really nailing him for things he said even a few days ago.

Unlike the Carswell defection, however, his seat is not one he can be assured of winning. If UKIP can land this seat it will really hurt the Tories and help UKIP at the general election.

The party line is meaningless "something for everyone" promises designed to grab votes. They know that no-one important takes then seriously, so they don't have to work out what all those conflicting "policies" will actually mean. Which is just as well, as none of it has been worked out past the slogan stage.

Their big actual hope is not victory, which is obvious nonsense, but to hold the balance of power with a Tory Minority party.

If he hasn't already, Cameron needs to nip this in the bud and make a manifesto pledge not to govern or have any alliance with UKIP.

Even a suggestion that they might makes them pretty much unelectable imo.

Despite UKIPs popular support with some, they're despised by much of the more moderate Tory voters who they'll need to win an election.

UKIP are simply to divisive to anything other than a fringe party, and the Tories should keep their distance.

Why all the Tory hate, they were voted in and they haven't really done in the last 5 years to warrant any particular criticism as far as I can see, Cameron has tried to project a middle-right persona, at least.

They weren't voted in  it's a coalition camoron couldn't even get a majority

Still can't think of a good argument for ukip and resorting to pettiness I see ;)

It's been discussed so many times and yet you still call people you don't know names.
You use the name calling trick like some people use the racist remark. Both kinds of people need to grow up.

Please keep your childish talk for the playground on Monday ;)

Is not a tax.

Do you think its a good idea to pay for single people to live in 4 bedroom houses?

But, but, but people being provided for shouldn't have to move about. Despite us private renters having to.

Do you think it's a good idea to penalise single people and couples for not living in one-bedroom flats that simply don't exist in their local area?

What percentage of single council tenants are living in four-bedroom houses?

Maybe people would take ukip seriously if they had any policies other then them foreign tke our jerbs

Most of the population don't vote Tory, didn't you know that ? Hence this farcical coalition government.

We were taught some maths at high school, percentages and all, now it may be a coalition government, however, it seems that quite a lot of people voted Tory at the last GE, so how does that equate with, 'most of the population...'?
