Which new phone, Nexus? or iPhone? or something else?

I used to have iPhones (few years ago) but have recently purchased a Nexus 7 Google tablet, and love it, more than any ipad, iphone etc.

I was thinking of maybe going for a Nexus 5 phone or something similar, I dont fancy an iPhone6, or an iPhone5 infact weirdly

What decent phones are about at the moment? I have been out of the loop for a while so dont really know whats hot or whats not.
 
The Z3 and Z3c (If you want a phone a similar size to the 5s) are getting lots of great reviews right now and only just came out. So you could look through those threads and see if they seem like the phone for you.

Or you could hold out and see if there is a nice Nexus device in the next few months.
 
Hold out for the Nexus reveal (hopefully next month). Either way if you don't like it the Nexus 5 should go down in price.
Like you I went to the Nexus 7 and then purchased the Nexus 5.
 
My vote defo goes to the Nexus. I bought an iPhone 6 and returned it two days later - it really is that bad. Nothing beats a Nexus 5 at the moment IMHO.
 
Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact are probably the best phones available right now. Battery life on them appears to be absolutely fantastic, as well has having a "close to stock Android" experience, and Sony also appear to have been providing Android updates relatively quickly.

I'm just waiting for Three to get some pricing on them and allow me to order, and then I'll be jumping ship from O2.
 
Sweet will hold out for a bit and see what the 2014 version is like :)

If not I will go for the 2013 version

GF Nexus 5 had power button issues on Friday, she called Google and they where meant to send a new phone out, she called again yesterday since there was no update. She was told there is no stock outside of the red model, and they won't refresh it. She was offered a full refund (So free phone for 11months, bi-winning).

So the new device should be out really soon, Sprint in the US has also EOL their Nexus 5 stock.
 
Im always a nut when it comes to phones.
Luckily I have 3 kids who always want what I dont.

I bought an Iphone 4S - Utter load of rubbish. I bought a Gorilla case for it and that make it a lot better to feel, but it still didnt take away the fact that it was still tied to ichoonze
I dont like to be tied in to any program, and thats a big decider for me ( read on to me utterly contradicting myself )
I also bought a windows phone... I have in fact bought 3 of the buggers and I do need a slap in the face because I will never learn, however, the 520 was the first, it was awful, then the 800 cos I thought it was better than the 520 but its not, its also tied in to ZUNE this time... Wow, rubbish. I now have a 635 and this is much better in that I can just connect it to my PC and copy stuff that way so Im happy, but its still windows so its just bloody awful. I only use it as an MP3 player for when I go to bed, but my BlackBerry Does that better I feel.
My Galaxy S3 has gone to my Wife, as I now have the Note 3 but its a bit of a waste of time really... It does not do anything thats any better than the S3.. Its a tiny bit bigger and quicker, and has 32GB over the 16GB and they both have 32GB SDCARD but in all honesty, I wasted my time buying it.

End of the day, I am an android fan over any other OS but is any one phone any better than the other? Not really. Not for me.

I will just avoid iphones and windows phones in future.

I will certainly give a newer Blackberry a look for sure.

I'm holding out on upgrading my Nexus 4 to see what it's like. I just hope the rumours of a 5.9" screen are wrong. If they are correct then I'll probably get either the Motorola X or maybe the Xperia Z3.

I dont like certain phones and so, sure that makes me a little hudgemental, but in what way is it garbage?

I dont like being called a liar... Im a plonker yes, Im often wrong yes, but I never lie.

Anyway, I tried to take a few pics but the phones kept switching off by the time I took them, so whatever...
 
It's garbage as it's literally garbage. Zune for a start doesn't exist and hasn't existed for years.

Why on earth would you think 800 would be better, it's several years older than the 520 and a totally different unsupported OS.

So yes garbage.
 
Hang on a minute, I had the 520 for somethign like half an hour and didnt like it.

I then got the 800 thinking it was better, but it was not, I could not get files onto it and was told on this very forum that I needed to use ZUNE and so yes,m I downloaded it and that let me use it. It may not have been supported for years but you can still download it.

I was also told at that time that its was 7.8 and that the 520 would have been a better phone... Again I bought these on a whim and not through carefull planning or anything, I just assumed that 800 would be better than 520. I never knew that it was older either, and nor did I even know that there was EVER a windows phone that was Windows 7.8? Why the hell would I?

I then bought the 635 and that does just connect and work like a flash drive and so thats much better but its still a windows phone and I still dont like it.

If you dont like what I said, I dont sodding care, but dont tell me its garbage because I was too ignorant about the phones, I did not know, but I have not once lied about anything. Not once. You are too judgemental.
 
And you don't quantify anything, post rubbish which hasn't applied for years. Made big mistakes and don't add anything to threads like this. If you don't know anything why post.
Why not include features that you hate etc.

I didn't day you lied, I said you posted garbage, which you have. Mainly as you don't know anything which is fair enough. But it doesn't help anyone to decide. Especially when you just go apple/windows is **** quantify it.
 
Glaucus, how about a little respect please mate. We all have our opinions, and there are far better & more polite ways to disagree with someone, so please.... :)

You judged me right from the start. I clearly stated in my first post that I made big mistakes with the windows phones but you pulled me up on that, which makes me think you didnt actually read the post at all.

I stated that I simply didnt like iphones or Windows phones and I do like Android but I am liking the newer Blackberries too!

You came at me, not the post. The way you replied seemed to me, to have NOTHING to do with the post itself but rather it was a personal attack.
 
Hoe did it come across to you as that, it was clearly about the post not a personal attack.

A phone which isn't supported and hasn't been for a while is not relevant for a new phone.
Saying iPhone is crape is not useful.
Talking about Zune which no longer exist is totally irrelevant etc.

Android 2.1 sucked don't buy a Z3c is what you have basically done.
