Hey fellas, looking for a guys/geek perspective here, I too am a fellow geek but I am struggling a bit here, and wonder if you could help.

Basically, it's mine and my boyfriends 2nd year anniversary (Not married, just going out) and I want to get him something really cool, unique and as he's a fellow nerd something that will compliment that.

I mean no bloke REALLY want's a Me to You bear and chocolate do they?

It's his birthday in Nov and I'm paying for him to go airsofting with his friends and bought him a Roccat gaming mouse, and for xmas he's got two GTX 970's so I'm not looking to spend a fortune... any ideas? What would you guys class as a good gift?

Thinking maybe Destiny and a cool card, just doesn't seem very personal tho.

BBBJ should do it.

Hope this helps. :)

:D The thing to give a guy who has everything.

/thread.

On a more helpful note, what do you think he would appreciate that he doesn't already have. Destiny could be a little impersonal but if you know it is a game that he is really looking forward to but hasn't bought it for one reason or another then I see no problem with it. If you have ruled that idea out then a boxset of a series or some memorabilia from his favorite film / series / game would work.

Maybe just take him out somewhere? If you can't think of a physical gift that means something or they really want then a day out or a nice meal is good

Yeah this, I've never been big on receiving gifts, and I don't think most men are too much either.

Also, 2 970s!!???

We men are simple folk:

- A nice meal - either cooked yourself if you're into that or meal out you treat him to.
- Exclusive access to the TV remote control
- Guilt-free pass for "man stuff" e.g. footy, beers with his mates, bringing cups of tea when re-plumbing his WC loop

Don't go overboard or he'll wonder if there's some ulterior motive going on.

I would jump in the "items you have purchased" thread. Lots of cool stuff in there of the nerdy/tech variety. Chap is clearly spoilt already!

Hahaha thanks for the input!! Some good ideas :P

Yeah, two is better than one right? I was going to go them or a Titan. He does a lot of games production, modelling so wanted something that could keep up with rendering polygons in Unity and what not. :)

Probably overkill, but hey ho it's only money. :)

Two GTX 970s!? :p I would have thought one was enough but I can see a great symbolism there with the SLI linking them together.. How romantic!

You'd be surprised...
I once was given a cuddly otter, but I do happen to think they're the coolest animals on the planet.

Some blokes like chocolate, some like pamper days at a spa, some even like getting flowers... Blokes are weird.
