Evening folks, hoping someone can tell me where I stand in regards to having 2 stuck pixels on my new monitor.

One is, near the bottom but the other is right in the middle of the screen and is visible when you have a dark patch on that area.
Is this a reason for it to be returned?

You can try and return it as faulty but technically it may not be depending on the class of the panel.

Contact OcUK (I'm assuming it's from them) and see what they say.

OcUK's policy:

TV & Monitor Pixel Policy
Please be aware that all of our Suppliers and thus Overclockers UK conform to the ISO 13406-2 standard - the acceptable number of dead pixels based on screen size and resolution. Information on this can be found through any major search engine typing "ISO 13406-2" and the monitor brand name. Products with dead pixels of equal to or less than those defined within the ISO 13406-2 standard will not be accepted for return.

ISO 13406-2 has actually been replaced by SO-9241-302, 303, 305, 307:2008.

Both sets of standards allow a certain number of faulty pixels in 3 of the 4 panel classes.

If you do return the monitor as unwanted it will be under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The Distance Selling Regulations no longer exist.

You will have to pay return postage and your refund can be reduced for loss in value of the goods supplied if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

You may also want to consider approaching Samsung directly.

Weird issue, if I play a game for about 2-3 hours the right hand side of the monitor seems to go lighter and lighter, I turn the monitor off and leave it for an hour and it goes back to normal but at the cost of an extra dead pixel and googling this problem shows nothing :S

ok thanks

just would be useful to know at point of buying

as it could well determine a purchase decision - it would for me anyway (I need to replace this 2407 Dell at some point ! :) )
