Turns out False widows can be bloody nasty!

Yeah she could just have easily stabbed herself with a pin and picked up the bug afterwards. The spider didn't cause her to lose her finger(unless the spider carries the bug ).

Reading up on it a test of >100 spiders showed no Mrsa (guess there's others) she works as a hairdresser could have picked it up from a customer that didn't become an issue until the spider bite.

Columbo!

Oh no killer spider alert!1!!

Anything can be deadly if you have a bad reaction and/or are allergic to it. Some people die from bee stings, some people die from peanuts, and some people will die from spider bites, it's all dependant on the person.

It even says it in the link:
There have been no reported deaths from its bite in the UK, they are not considered aggressive and generally symptoms are no worse than for a bee or wasp sting

more like flesh eating bacteria can be bloody nasty

don't think MRSA had anything to do with it

You don't need to be a doctor to read the article ;)

MRSA is a subset of Necrotizing fasciitis ;) :).

Specifically when there's only one invading microbe causing the Necrotizing fasciitis (type ii) and that microbe is resistant to certain antibiotics making it all the harder to treat.

MRSA also apparently starts off with a spider bite look. So I guessed she may have been mistaken about the cause of injury.

Unlikely to come across one of them in a park in Newcastle...... who identified the spider, did she SEE it bite her, etc etc etc.
Usual newspaper style reporting with plot holes you could drive a bus through.
