seems she picked up an infection after the bite? The attack left her with flesh-eating bug necrotising fasciitis
it is understood the spider which bit Ms Wallace contained a bacteria which caused the reaction
Yeah she could just have easily stabbed herself with a pin and picked up the bug afterwards. The spider didn't cause her to loose her finger(unless the spider carries the bug).
Reading up on it a test of >100 spiders showed no Mrsa (guess there's others) she works as a hairdresser could have picked it up from a customer that didn't become an issue until the spider bite.
There have been no reported deaths from its bite in the UK, they are not considered aggressive and generally symptoms are no worse than for a bee or wasp sting
Columbo!

more like flesh eating bacteria can be bloody nasty
don't think MRSA had anything to do with it
I think I jumped to MRSA with the speed of it/the conclusion of a spider bite. I probably am completely wrong as I'm not a doctor.
The attack left her with flesh-eating bug necrotising fasciitis, which required 10 weeks in hospital.
You don't need to be a doctor to read the article![]()

Just when I think I've corrected every typo I miss an obvious one.
