EK-FC R9-290X and Aqua Computer Kryographics Backplate

I read somewhere that the Aqua Computer backplate is compatible with the EK GPU block. Can someone confirm this?

Specifically these:

EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X - Nickel (Original CSQ)
Aqua Computer Kryographics Backplate for R9 290X/290, passive

I cant see why not as the mounting holes for the screws will be in the same place for all reference cards surely ?

Also a little tip i just found out is on my 290x the EK backplate i have seems to cause some kind of coil whine i dont know if the plate amplifies it but i can sure as hell tell the difference with it off.
