I've found this pancake style to "eat their own heat". Air goes to motherboard, turns out, to RAM / GPU, turns up past cooler and fan pulls heated air right back in. Even on an open bench I've seen 5-8c hotter CPU temps with fan pushing in rather than pulling air out of cooler. I don't think you can just run that fan over, but if you took your rear fan and tied it onto case so it was blowing air into cooler it might help until your new cooler arrives.
