Once you purchase an EVGA GTX970/980 from OCUK all you have to do is register the card with us and automatically you will receive an upgrade to a 5 year warranty, this is 2 years additional for absolutely free.

This promotion will run till the end of the year 2014 or until further notice.

Any questions please let me know.

Anyone already owning a GTX970/980 can also qualify as the promotion started on Sept 19th so please register your card for the free warranty upgrade.

Thanks
Ben

Very interesting while the MSI remains out of stock. How does the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 1.0 and 2.0 compare (heat/noise/OC) does anyone know? Do love a good warranty! :)

According to reviews the ACX cards are much, much louder than MSI. Though EVGA have said they're looking at fixing this with a bios update.

EVGA Press Release

According to reviews the ACX cards are much, much louder than MSI. Though EVGA have said they're looking at fixing this with a bios update.

Hi in relation to the above please see the EVGA press release from yesterday evening:

Regarding the recent GTX 970 feedback, we would like to provide the following statements and actions to address it:

1. We understand that some users were expecting the ACX 2.0 fan version to be available on the launch day, but unfortunately the ACX 2.0 development schedule did not allow us to have ACX 2.0 product available at launch. We plan to offer an ACX 2.0 fan upgrade program, stay tuned for news on this.

2. For EVGA GTX 970 ACX cards we have two different fansink designs, FTW ACX 2.0, and SSC and below. For those users who have SSC and below, and are not pleased with the cooling performance, we are adding the GTX 970 FTW to the stepup program as an option.

3. We are going to release a new BIOS upgrade to all 970 ACX owners that will fine tune the fan performance and provide better acoustics. Stay tuned.

4. Some EVGA users have reported inductor noise on their GTX 970, if you think you have this type of concern then please contact our support.

Sorry for the inconvenience, EVGA's top priority is customer satisfaction.

Any questions on the above let me know or please raise on the EVGA forums or EVGA discussion page on the OCUK forums.

Thanks
Ben

Will EVGA be releasing 8gb 970s? If so will it be this year and will the bork with the 670 blocks like a lot of the 4gb versions do? basically I want 8gb 970s that work with 670 blocks to replace my 670s

EVGA Free backplate

Related to the above for a very limited period EVGA are giving away a free backplate for those who sign up and purchase their EVGA GTX970 before November 9th

Please note the backplates will ship later in November but you have to sign up to qualify.

Please see link below:

Let me know if you have any questions

Ben

Well looks like EVGA are going out of their way to win back some potential buyers and the extended warranty, BIOS fix for fans and back plate is a nice incentive.

Looking to buy a GTX970 in next couple week or so, does that backplate come with and fit all variations of your cards?

Yup, eVGA have been caught napping it seems and been complacent in regards to the average quality of their 970/980 products.

Hopefully this will give them a kick up the jacksie for the future :)
