Any Truck Drivers

Basically starting a new job driving Trucks soon and am looking at sat navs but specifically a truck one with heights weights etc can anyone recommend me one without breaking the bank am looking at the Tomtom GO7000 Truck which I can pick up fairly cheap second hand any recommendations though would be appreciated.

^ sensible advice there. At the end of the day, you can only trust yourself, so If you cross reference a normal sat nav with proper truckers map, you can make a route that is safe.

Been too many cases of trucks getting into trouble even with special satnavs.
 
I have my AA Close-Up Truckers Atlas in my truck at all times.

Invaluable bit of kit, my trailer is 15' 10". :eek:

Sat Navs are useful, but best used just as a reference and not the gospel in my opinion.
 
I think he may have sorted one out in the intervening two years since he asked this question! ;)
 
For a satnav I use Copilot on my phone as it's default routing keeps to main roads and doesn't direct you down unsuitable shortcuts like Google maps of Waze does. As for bridge heights and weight limits planning your route with an atlas much better than a satnav. Remember your eyes, learn to look, following a satnav is not an excuse, they can and will ruin your day if your unobservent.
