Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Hopefully my order arrived tomorrow too, it was sent from ShopTo today. I can't actually play it tomorrow though, my wife is a huge LOTR fan and wants to watch me play it, and she's out all day tomorrow.

Only played for 30m last night, quick impressions were yes I agree it looks pants (on PS4) and it all feels very stiff. I'm also well aware I may grow to love it so I'll report back after a proper session.

Does it really look bad on the PS4? That's a shame as I was going to get it on the console rather than the PC as I wanted to start getting some use out of this console I bought nearly a year ago and have hardly used. Next gen???? NEXT GEN?

I'm no graphics whore. I thought Watchdogs was ok when it was getting a lot of stick but this just screams PS3 to me so far. Maybe I'm just not at the 'pretty' areas yet.
Think it's got potential anyways

According to most reviews, the graphics match up to PC's high setting.

The ultra HD pack which pimps the PC version up big time requires a 6GB graphic card for optimal playability. When you consider the price of one of those cards, this isn't such a bad trade off.

Ultra textures on PC runs fine with 4GB. :)

My PS4 copy has just arrived so will see how it looks compared to PC.

From Eurogamer... http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-eyes-on-with-pc-shadow-of-mordors-6gb-textures

The question is, just how much of a difference is there between the various quality settings? Well, it's safe to say that ultra textures definitely make an impact - it's just that the scenarios in which you will actually notice during gameplay are likely to be fairly limited. Shadow of Mordor is a third-person title, so the camera is set back somewhat, diminishing the difference in many cases - unless you walk right up to a wall, for example. For the most part, we found that the high setting - in itself placing a significant video RAM requirement on the user - offers the bulk of the ultra experience

So the PS4 version is pretty much on par. That'll do me.

Back to an age old argument, most on here have pretty beefy PC's, so I think many are just used to much higher graphics levels than than the average gamer, thereby it's so much easier to be disappointed.

From a non biased console loving opinion the PS4 looks crap compared to the PC even on medium settings tbh. Not sure what they have done but it feels like it's running a different engine.

I was hoping for better tbh as I prefer sofa gaming.

Edit it's like a mix of High/Medium on PC on PS4. I cannot get them to look identical. Just been booted of the PS4 by an error message so have given up.
