About to buy a Superflower PSU is platinum vs gold noise

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in noise? Searching around i've read that the gold can get "noisy" but that's so subjective I'm not sure it's something I would notice.

I have a 780GTX SLI in a define R4 with 3930K x79 deluxe. Wondering also if the extra £30 for the platinum might pay itself back over a year of aruond 40 hours of gaming per week - trying to find a calc for this would appreciate any opnions.

On the power saving front I think there will be nothing in it really when i look at Gold vs platinum efficiencys, so probably answering my own question there.

- 80 PLUS ® Gold Certified, 91.09% 91.75% 89.25% Efficiency At 20% 50% 100% Rated Load
- 80 PLUS ® Platinum Certified, 91.07% 92.44% 90.47% Efficiency At 20% 50% 100% Rated Load

Unless anyone knows otherwise..

I've installed golds and platinum supers for people and not noticed noise with either.. Both were big xfire setups as well so under decent load...

To be fair, the Super Flower units overall are fantastic, and you cannot go wrong with either.

1300W for GTX 780 SLI ? :eek:

You would need an 850W at the most.
