PES 2015

+1 I got fed up with FIFA, give the demo a try Soulja the AI is better and the game feels so fluid like the older Pro evolution soccer games.

some good comments on here. if master league is still here i make buy a footy game again! (never took to fifa)

Master League has been confirmed ;)

No idea to be honest, others seem to be saying it has 11v11 so there is hope!

11 vs 11 will be in the game according the early press release, more information on game modes and official license should be out in the next few weeks.

QuickMatch: Simpler ranking match-ups to speed up online games.
Online Divisions : Accrue points in online matches across a season to aim for a promotion or face delegation.
Dedicated 11v11 Lobbies: Makes large-scale multi-player games more fluid and easy to set up.

More info :

Key On-Field Advances:

Incredible Response Times: Lightning fast controls allows users to instinctively react to every movement when the ball is in play

On The Ball Abilities: Take on defenders using each player’s bespoke dribbling skills, as opposed to relying on ‘trick’ moves. New skills include Close control, responsive sprint and incorporating a much wider range of pace – from walking to sprinting

Case for Defence: Users have complete control over when to close down, tackle, or hold up play. Successful defending is based entirely on the decisions the user makes
New Generation Highlights

Behavioural Patterns: PES 2015 now boasts a huge array of players that both look and play like their real-life counterparts. KONAMI has faithfully recreated over 1000 players this year, with bespoke animations and playing styles across its extensive player roster. Teams automatically adopt their real-life game plan, whether it is counter-attacking, out wide, or defensively minded. They run like they should, play the way they do in real life, and react emotionally as they would to fouls, goals or referee decisions – with their frame of mind actuallynaffecting how they play!

Poetry in Motion: The individuality of the players is further enhanced with seamless animations. No sacrifice to animation has been made in the pursuit of fast response, yet the movements flow effortlessly calculated in real-time and dependent on the player’s position in relation to the ball and its speed. Player models themselves are also carefully enhanced.

Bring the Noise: PES 2015 mirrors the atmosphere of a top-flight match. The crowd animations have been hugely enhanced, and the ebb and flow of a match is met with context-sensitive crowd effects and movements.

Let There Be Light:
All in-game elements from players to crowd and stadium now benefit from a single source of lighting naturally bringing the game to life

PES ID Advances:

PES ID
: Teams are set up to play as they do in real-life, while their star players will work within this framework, but will be instantly recognisable via their runs and playing styles. The world’s greatest teams will not just move and find space like they would in real life. They will defend or attack like them automatically

Realistic Abilities: While the world’s greatest players are indeed capable of moments of incredible skill, PES 2015 focuses on their abilities as a player and not their flicks and tricks. Beating a man using pace and close control is key to attacking play, and only those that can will get away with rainbow flicks will. And, even then, not every time…

All-New Modes:

myClub: Demanded by fans of the series, an extensive Master League Online overhaul allows players and managers to be added using accumulated GP points or via micro-transactions within club dealings. Agents are now used to meet player requirement criteria, while unhappy players can upset the balance of a side to detrimental effect. Team Sprit plays a key role, as the compatibility of the manager between the player, players with other teammates creates better teamwork impacted the on field performances

Live Updates: Weekly DLC updates will constantly update transfers and team line-ups across the English, French, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian leagues. Player data also updated based on current performances every week, so if a player is on a goal-scoring streak, his stats will be boosted accordingly in the update. Applied to online modes and optional within single-player mode
Adaptable Match Environments: A good manager knows how to give his side every advantage. As manager, players can request the grass be left long to slow down short play, or watered to suit a passing style. You can tailor any part of your stadia to suit your bespoke needs

Accurate Player Stats: The player parameter system for PES has been completely rebuilt, working with key community sites across the globe to create the most realistic player stats database.
Second Divisions Added: PES 2015 features the second tier leagues from England, Spain, Italy and France for the first time in the series, vastly expanding the database of upcoming players to scout

Role Control: Role Control allows three players to divide the defensive, midfield and attacking roles between them for more structured multi-player action. This new mode means players govern their selected area and adds a new cooperative slant to the game.

Real Managers: In a first, real managers will feature in PES 2015 across a number of European and Latin American sides.

New In-Game Currency: GP system integrated. Earned within new myClub mode and unlocked via in-game achievements

Other edit options includes Manager Editor, new player editing options and base copies for all players. To compliment the return of Stadium Editor, new licensed stadia have been added. I will definitely be buying Pro Evo this year. Game is a major improvement from old and brings back memories from PS2 Pro Evo where we literally would play the game every weekend.

I was playing with Barcelona earlier on and i did notice individual players had attributes that made them stand out like real life. Neymar had incredibly quick feet and dribbling together with Messi but everything felt more composed compared to Fifa. With Fifa i don't ever feel like i have full control of the player. Only downside now is that i will have to try and learn a range of new skills :D

But just to confirm... PES will not have real player names etc for the English premier league, right, or have I got it completely wrong? I thought FIFA was the only one allowed to license that stuff.

PES will have all the names as that's licensed via Fifpro they won't be able to use things like team names or logo's. I really wish FIFA would allow cross licensing to increase competition, then we could have 2K Sports and Ubisoft etc come into the market as well. PES 2015 better be good, if they hit the ground running they can build some good momentum for the next few years, like FIFA was able to last gen.

Can anyone explain how online master league works and how it differs from FUT?

Not sure about online master league but the FUT equivalent is "myClub" have read of Dredd's post below:

The main difference from the early details being released is myClub will include managers and agents. This will add to the extent in which you can alter your team’s performance via tactics and will give you more realistic transfer options.

The agent factor will mean when signing players it has to go through an agent. The level of agent you have will determine the quality of player you’ll be able to sign.

More significant however, is the manager element. This provides greater control over your team’s style as well as increase realism. Therefore your team will only be able to play (well) to match with your manager’s skillset. For example, you won’t be playing Barcelona passing football with Tony Pulis at the helm and conversely a Sir Alex Ferguson type manager won’t be playing defensively!

Adam Bhatti, the PES European Product Manager, had the following to say regarding the manager element,
Should you have players that don’t work for the style of manager you have then you have two choices. Either you can adapt the players you have to play in a different way, which is a slow process but you can do it, or you can bring in new players. Players that understand their roles better means you have a richer understanding between them. That goes on to affect how effectively they perform on the pitch. We want to allow people to build the kind of team they want to use, but in a way that doesn’t force them to hit the transfer market and bring in a whole load of new players each time.

+1 Same thing happened to american football, 2k sports made a amazing game then EA bought the rights and continued making its average games & cornering the market. They didn't get the NBA rights and 2k sports have been making the best basketball games for while now. Its a shame as more competition is better for games company so they don't become complacent.

That really does suck... it should genuinely be illegal to block someone else from using a simple real-life team-name. officially licensing a game under a players name or team, ok, but not allowing simple naming of real-life teams in a game is really a pain, and to some extent atmosphere-killer. They can do player names though, right?

Really wonder what the commentary will be like on this too... any confirmed names yet?

Yeah I remember it all too well, although Madden is quite good this year, 2K was the better game when EA got the exclusivity deal. We can only imagine how far 2K would have come by now with their own interpretation of the sport. As NBA2K has proved, they could be way ahead.

This.

and this.

Yes it's a shame organisations would rather take the quick cash than perhaps have more competing games while taking some portion of revenue of a sale instead. If FIFA didn't have exclusivity on the licensing I'm sure we'd see a massive PES sales spike, as it's one of the biggest factors putting off many people I know from enjoying the game. As that break from realism is enough for some people to pass up on the game.

Unfortunately money talks, Activision/Ubisoft are probably the only other two with the financial muscle to grab the deal if they wanted to. The fact that EA now have a 20 year relationship though, probably works wonders when agreeing to new terms.

Yes player names are fine, as for commentary expect a poor showing there again. PES is a game that will deliver on the pitch more than anywhere else. Having said that, they could do more within certain modes to beat FIFA. They could take 11v11 play or add clubs and take it to the next level of immersion as an example and even manager mode... if you can't compete on the licensing front.

I've always wanted a Fight Night style story mode within a sports game (still yet to see that happen) but it'll be cool if EA/Konami have the balls to try it out this gen. Or in simple terms a Virtual Pro campaign with a story line (with hours of cut-scenes along the way) or manager mode campaign with the same concept.

I'm really interested to see how the option files work on PS4, took a couple of iterations before the PS3 could adequately update all the kits etc.

*keeps a close eye on evo-web*

Am I missing something so obvious here or what ? How the hell do I shoot hard and low ? All my shots go high and or wide, no matter if I hold down shoot for a long time or a quick tap, the ball will fly.

just don't put to much power when you shoot i think

Hmm, I'll keep trying but as I said, I've tried both quick taps and long ones. I'm loving the game but not sold on the shooting just yet, think it's just me and the way I play.

Exactly, it's a game of finesse. You have to be conservative when predicting the shot, especially if it's a first touch.

So I tried last night and a quick tap does not let you shoot hard and low. Also unless your wide open, it takes an age from me pressing shoot to the player actually shooting. Most the time the other team just take the ball off me.

Have a look at what i found Hold R2 when shooting for controlled shot, not tired this jinking run yet....
