Kudos to Frontier.
The HUD changes in 2.03 that were causing eye strain in some people ( me included ) appear to have been made optional :)

Seems much better to me?

It's been fine for me the past few hours.
Seems to be much more 'alive' with the number of NPC ships around now, especially at extraction sites.
Just watch an Anaconda take a pasting from 5-6 Security Forces in Eagles.

And does anyone else with an AMD card running Cat 14.9's get the in-game gamma changing when you switch to the galaxy map & then back to the cockpit view?

It darkens the view here the first time I do it.
I did see some report in in 2.02 & 2.03, but never noticed what card they were running.

Wondering if it's a general bug, or an AMD specific one.

I've also noticed lighting being a bit brighter when in supercruise, but returns to normal when you disengage.

Anyone not have flickering planets/crazy jumping HUD with crossfire on?

Crossfire seems broken according to the ED forums, although there is this fix someone posted for the flickering planets :

"For AMD Crossfire users set Environment Quality to LOW"

Yeah I'm gonna go back to a single card soon I think, been Crossfired for a few years but AMD is just too slow getting support in games. It's good when it works though.

I gotta say Nvidia SLI is also sketchy on most things, so glad I went single card again. Crossfire and SLI are good ideas that for the most part do not pay off, more likely due to lack of or limited support from the software.

Anyway Elite 2.04 is chuffing brilliant.

Never really found SLI sketchy - though I won't lie a single 780 is a better experience than my previous 470 SLI setup but aside from BF4 (which is/was just broken anyhow) and 1-2 games that didn't work with SLI at all 99% of games worked fine with the 470s.

I'm building a Command pod for this. A rough sketch of my proposed initial design:

With materials:

I'm still working on the design for the seat base.

Basically similar design to the r-pod shifter console and side panels I made:

Full rig:

Started today. Progress so far:

Panels just placed on for now but at least I can sit on it.

The back is massively over cut.

Full build log here:

See you out there ...

Awesome, please make a working button panel.
I want a working button panel.

And for the side display on the cockpit to actually be displayed in a separate touch screen, but that would need frontier to I element it.

Probably a stupid question...but...

The courier missions have a 'range' which is usually red if you're in a ship with a lesser range. However, does that matter? Surely you can just re-fuel?

Thanks for the feedback.

@Glaucus, there will either be a working button panel or a place to attach an ipad mini in the centre of the seat, a bit like this:

It can use the Roccat power grid software to provide a console like this:

It sounds like you like button panels. Here's the dash I built for the rig (real carbon fibre):

Sweet how do you link buttons upto computer and can they be programmed to implement in game stuff.
Can you make like toggle switches that will raise and lower landing gear, and light up when gear is lowered as a warning.

This seriously needs a separate thread.
I reckon you could start selling these. I want one...

Is that Roccat lay out available to download?
