Tefal frying pans

I'm enjoying my two circulon saucepans I got a few months ago. :) Nice weight. I noticed they take longer to melt butter (or anything) than my old cheaper thin pans used to, but that's because there's more metal to get through I guess.

Which pan for induction hob?

Most do induction these days, depends what you prefer. Teflon/hard anodised/enamel/stainless.

I've actually emailed a few companies the other day to try and get exact thickness. Why can't they just release this info it's a big consideration.
It annoyed me massively when anolon professional rebranded to Raymond blanc as they reduced the gauge.

Depends what you want hard anodized/Teflon/enamel/stainless steel.

The 4 I have Emailed are:

Circulon genesis 260c £28 very cheap pan and highest temp rating I have seen so far http://www.philipmorrisdirect.co.uk/stellar-7000-26cm-nonstick-frypan/product/

Anolan nouvelle copper hard anodized 240c £70 pretty much double the price but do look nice and include a layer of copper for heat spread. http://www.gourmetcookwareuk.com/anolon-nouvelle-copper-82736-24cm-skillet.html

Stellar 7000 teflon 240c £47 on offer from http://www.philipmorrisdirect.co.uk/stellar-7000-26cm-nonstick-frypan/product

Cuisinart hard anodized 240c however can't find a uk supplier at the moment, in the states specs look good and prices reasonable.

Combine any with some bamboo or other utensils and they'll last ages, especially if looked after.

The Sainsbury ones are pretty good for the price, they are reasonable thin though. Got one my self all though the small skillet. and fir the price you cnalt complain can use metal utensils and just buy a new one off needed. Would still last a while and they are often on offer.

Well, I just rang Sainsbury's and as expected, none of those left in stock in the whole of UK and Ireland. Pity, because as you said, hard anodised is the best non stick. But it says "hard anodised exterior surface offers excellent scratch resistance" so that wouldn't really make any difference to me as the interior surface is what I thought would be anodised.

Ive had a Tefal frying pan for a little over a year now. Although its non-stick coating is still effective, the pan itself has warped. The middle of the pan is raised so things naturally fall to the outside edge.

I want a new pan that remains flat. I look after them too, cleaning after every use etc.

I had the same problem, they're just not durable enough to take high temperatures. The frying pans I got in my procook elite pan set are more heavy duty, with a much thicker base. Though I've learned the lifespan of any non stick pan is limited, eventually they all have to go in the bin.

I've had exactly the same problem with Tefal pans. All of mine have warped and like you say, they do not seem to be able to cope with very high heat.

Got it. And some plastic tools just to avoid scratching.

:D

That's the very one, superb value for the money. Happy frying :)

Thanks. I've still got some sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes on the vine, bacon and eggs, so will be testing it today or tomorrow. :D

It's got a nice weight to it. While I was there I picked up (lifted, not bought) the cast iron and enamel frying pan they had. I'm sure it's heavier than my car. :p

I'm confused on which to buy. Asda and Tesco sell Tefal thermospot frying pans in varying sizes, but they come under the names of Adventure, Intensium, Harmony, and one or two others. I've no idea what the differences are. I just need a decently heavy one about 26 to 28cm which does even heating and doesn't burn omelettes.

Recently got the Tefal Jamie Oliver 26cm and love it. Perfectly even heating, doesn't burn anything and is a joy to clean (nothing sticks to it, ever).

Yeah, maybe paid more than normal because of the name on it, but it was still only £20 which is a steal for the quality and ease of cooking.
