**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

On the waterproof thing, people keep going on about getting caught out in a rain shower and not having to worry, or dropping it in the bath or toilet.

I actually think the far bigger appeal is in being able to zip it in your swimming shorts and take videos at the water park, of mates surfing, family swimming on holiday, etc.

Never really considered this side of it for some reason.

No issue here, G+ updated recently too with a Material design overhaul, got that?

My battery life is approaching the 2 day claim levels. Depends on how and where I'm using it. At work it's like a day and a half tops due to reception most of the time. Still better than Note 3.

Seem to have fixed the G+ issue I was having by clearing the cache and rebooting :)

Hey guys, I finally got my amazon delivery of the Xperia Z3!
So excited... oh wait, what's this? The parcel has two packets of strepsils? Sure, that's a good substitute for a smartphone.

Never mind water, I was pouring beer over my z2 on Friday night to show it off in front of friends, especially a friend who had just got an iPhone 6.

I have normal Stamina mode set to activate below 25% and before I did that this morning my battery report was 1 day 16 hours with 11% left. That was with a screen on time of 5 hours 6 minutes with good 3G reception area at home and mixed wifi and no ill data use.

That's more like it!

With Stamina set to activate the projected time now based on my usage here is 2 days 13 hours.

Eat that Note 3!

Oh man that sucks. Was that the £430 deal one?

Yeah you also lose screen calibration algorithms for brightness and such like.

Speaking of brightness. The ambient light sensor adjusting brightness on this compared to all other phones I've used is insane. It adjusts on the fly the second the light levels change. Every other phone I've used takes at least a couple of seconds before the sensor adjustment kicks in.

Yup, I think they're testing my patience so that I will cancel.
2nd replacement due on Tuesday, I say replacement but I haven't actually held the phone in my hand yet.
They've given me a 30 day extra Prime... like as if that's compensation for the messing around they've given me.

Tried the Z3 at a Three store and was surprised by its size and the ergonomics. Extremely hand friendly and if I was interested in a 5.2" screen I'd most certainly go for this phone over and above anything really else in the market and that includes the Nexus devices.

The screen is to die for and it looks great as well.

I'm surprised how easy it is to use one handed as well. And that was my biggest concern before getting the phone.

The button size and placements on the right right side are near perfect, whether you're holding the phone with left or right hand the buttons never get in the way. The Power button being a different shape and size entirely makes a nice contrast too.

Oh yeah... :

 I've got normal Stamina mode set to activate at 30% now and have select apps to remain active such as Messenger, Hangouts etc as I want to know when I get messages from IM apps. I've also set extended use mode (lowers the CPU clocks) and clock mode (doesn't de-activate when screen is turned on until I touch the screen).

Such a handy feature this.

Just got mine the other day but only really sat down to play around with it today after a busy few days.

Love the feel of it compared to the Z2 and the new UI tweaks I prefer, it reminds me of the Nexus 5 UI with the bigger icons which some I know don't like.

Unfortunately mine arrived with minor scuff on the shiny bezel bit on the left rear so Amazon will send me a replacement with no hassle, top marks to them for that or I could have kept it for a reduction in price but the marks would have bothered me so I went for a replacement :)

My bro in law got his yesterday - it had a tiny silver spec underneath the glass on the lower bezel - wierd.

Was tempted to stick my phone in my mates fish tank yesterday lol.

Surprised no ones mentioned the small apps feature - I only clocked on yesterday when my mate showed me - theres load of other apps available for it too! :)

still looking for a good screen protection. I never bothered on my S3 as I kept in a full cover but this is a more beautiful item so I want to see it all the time!

so extra protection is required...and I have no idea who makes the best ones!
