AMD begins slashing the prices of its Radeon R9 290, R9 290X GPUs

The theory behind what he says is true but it relies on the assumption both cards aren't 99% in usage. If they are then they will be hotter of course.

Even if I was to say run Vsync at 60hz this would drop the usage down from 100% and even lower temps a lot. You would still have the top GPU much hotter than running a single card.

Its just how it is, bottom GPU pushes how air into the case top GPU feeds from it. = higher temps even if you wasn't 100% load

Its how you tackle the issue with either more fans, better case, better PCI spacing etc

Its just a fact more Cards = more heat.

A R9-290 at £220 vs a GTX970 at £260 there's only going to be one winner especially when you throw the extra value of the game codes in the the equation. At this point the 290 becomes the gamers choice (but maybe not the enthusiast?) and we will be back to were a month ago.

But that wasn't the point he was making...

But that wasn't the point he was making...

The point he was making is if your cards wasn't getting full usage because a CPU bottleneck.. My point even if you use Vsync @60hz with a 290's this will be Overkill so you wouldn't even get full usage out the GPU's anyways.

Doesn't stop the bottom GPU pushing out hot air does it?

Why you even trying to justify a fact? More GPUs = more Heat

You be completely wrong, You will always get higher temps with Multi - GPUs

Here me running around TR for bit - Maxed out and no frame rate cap, If I was to use say Vsync I would get much lower temps in all my games because this would stop the GPU's working over time to push out more Frames.

Nice one shankly contradicting your self all in one post, way to put an argument across :D:p:D

With my non ref cards I get the following.

1 card, 65c max
2 cards, no fps limit, 79/62c max
2 cards, 100 fps limit, 72/57c max

Temps will be much lower again say if I use a lower fps limit or use vsync.
