**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Interesting that my replacement Amazon unit has a slightly less cold screen compared to the first unit which seemed distinctly blue without any tweaking.

The replacement seems yellow in comparison but still much better than my Z2 screen still.

Also can anyone with any colour unit check that the Nylon caps are seamless into the frame as on both of my units some corners don't seem to sit truly flush.

I'd read it didn't have wireless charging (could be wrong) and that you had to buy a 'special' case that would allow wireless charging.

Can anyone confirm?

I got my review unit yesterday, what are the real differences between the Z3 and the Z2? Looking through the specs, they look almost identical.


It definitely is a well made unit, but the weight of it negates the 'thinness' for me. I think I also prefer a rubberised back cover, over glass.

Now I understand the case on Amazon you are correct its a magnetic connector.
 
Andy, they may look the same, but I believe the differences to be more software. I'm coming from a Z2, the audio upgrade, camera, battery, way it feels, higher IP rating etc all add up into a perfect phone. Oh and the fact i'll be able to play PS4 on it :)

I absolutely love this phone, only thing I dont like very much is the volume button. Is it just me or is it fairly hard to either press up or down tapping, its fine holding your finge but i find the button to be fairly hard / stiff and no edges so you kind of press the middle
 
I've had more just over a full day but I'm finding the battery to be a bit average but I believe I must have some rogue apps which is causing cpu activity when the screen is off.
 
The Magtron adapter arrived today. I am tempted to buy another for the car unless I take this one with me when driving... What if I forget though? Yeah probabbly best to buy another.

The magnet on the cheap cables I bought were strong enough to lift the phone by the magnet but this magtron magnet is twice as strong and the surround hugs the phone so while it still tilts back and forth it tilts less so and won't get knocked loose easily.

As for battery, I cleared up some apps and now even with 4G enabled at work am getting exceptional battery. Left home this morning with 60% and came home with 31%. That's with around 2.5hrs screen on time.

Seems to charge fast too, no idea what's inside this but I clocked 1% every 1min 30sec.
 
Nope I think the navbar size is a strict Google thing. You can tweak it if rooted though. Worth noting you can hide it completely in full screen apps liek videos and games and some apps have an option to hide it too. Once you click away or tap that area the bar comes back.

I agree it's not cheap but having tried the cheap ones I really can't see anything else out there to better these since Sony don't make any themselves!

88% charged right now. Less than an hour ago it was at 60%!
