AMD begins slashing the prices of its Radeon R9 290, R9 290X GPUs

Must say £250 for a 290x is tempting...

Would you buy a 295X2 at £500 when that would buy you two 970's though?

I've always found SLI more reliable than crossfire virtual or not maybe that has changed in the last year though.

Stuck with NVidia now though if I get a gsync monitor.

AMD a bit late to the game with freesync.

In my opinion G-sync came at the right time for 4K. There just isn't enough GPU horsepower to give frames above 60 at 4K so for another 2-3 years freesync/gsync is the answer.

I had to laugh at this part:

He [Huddy] cites a better gaming bundle, superior multi-GPU implementation and Mantle support as key reasons why, taken as an ecosystem, AMD outperforms Nvidia.

GameWorks, PhysX, the fact that NVidia works with 80% of developers to ensure their cards are well optimised whilst AMD resort to blaming everyone else for their issues, far superior Linux support and OpenGL drivers.

That's not even getting into the much better physical characteristics that the new NVidia GPU's offer.

Amd in a mess lol why just because a gpu lineup is lower cost for similar performance?

Don't forget the past so fast, we're nvidia have always been the higher priced. Was they ever in a mess?

Answer is no.

Amd have a line up plan, simple as that. There next line up is next year. If they really wanted to and needed to we would have another line up out by now.

It is true!
AMD are not moving price.
But they will help with deals on new orders for key customers.

So leave it with me guys, let's see what I can do and let's see if I can offer the best deals in the UK and show the competitors how it's done, will take a few days but am sure I can land some deals as I am pretty much all out of 290's and 290X now. :)
