You won't be needing them any more if we get more developers like this:

The Evil Within:

Bethesda Softworks has outlined exactly what PC gamers can expect from their upcoming survival horror game, The Evil Within. According to an FAQ published by Bethesda, the game is locked at 30 frames per second and uses a fixed aspect ratio of 2.35:1, just like what console gamers will experience.

Final Fantasy XIII:

Final Fantasy 13 runs in full screen at 60 frames per second, Square Enix says, but the PC version's resolution is set to 1280 x 720. There is no in-game option to change that

So, two titles, two established developers and two very sloppy ports, one craps out at 30FPS with a fixed AR (yeah, 21:9 & multi-monitor gamers can do one!). While the other thinks it still 2005 and fixed 720p is perfectly acceptable. Both recently or soon to be released.

Is this what we have to look forward to? I'd rather they didn't release them on the PC at all then give us this.

I pre-ordered FFXIII for around $15 but was expecting to be able to change the res at least. Recorded some gameplay and it is indeed 720P :(

49GB download as well and took 30 minutes ish to unpack.... Ashamed to say that I am really enjoying it mind and not overly bothered. If The Evil Within is any good, I will probably still get it but yer, not really fair and we should be catered for.

Couldn't disagree more, while the limitations are not great by any means at the end of the day it's up to the consumer if they think it's worth it and I'd always rather have the option versus no choice at all because of the elitist attitude of some people.

Didn't ubisoft also say assassins creed unity will be better at 30fps because it feels more real or something like that? lol

Edit.. "30 was our goal, it feels more cinematic. 60 is really good for a shooter, action adventure not so much. It actually feels better for people when it's at that 30fps. It also lets us push the limits of everything to the maximum."

That's the quote. Lol. I know this refers to the console versions but its still a silly comment.

I was well ****** off for FF13, actually looking forward to playing it this weekend. Was hoping it would be a respectable port, from all people were saying it was made for PC in mind.

Wont be buying 13-2 and LR that's for cert.

iv always wanted 60+ fps in any game I play, otherwise its allways seemed jerky to me, tbh I play ESO, even when it dips below 60 fps, it doesn't seem laggy for some reason, but yet again its not fast paced game, yeah I can see minor minor Minor jerks between frames when it does dip below 60fps but not that much...

But 30fps, any game limited to that wont get my money, same with the resolution thing, what are they playing at??

But surely the bare minimum they could do is give us resolution options and at least 60fps. They aren't willing to do that so why bother, PC gamers are obviously an after thought for them.

Go play a modern game at 30fps and tell me its an enjoyable experience. 'Cinematic' my backside.

Its nothing to do with an elitist attitude, its to do with getting people to part with their money for something of a poor standard. Naturally PC gaming standards are higher, but you at least expect a little bit of effort?

Agree with that, if they honestly think 30fps is acceptable then they can do one. I'm sure we'll have loads of bull saying the human eye can only see 'enter random number here' FPS - they can do one as well

Absolutely, it sucks and a fuss should be kicked up - but removing the option I think is too far, the game running at sub-par expectations is better than the game not running at all. At least with FF13 it's been ported years after it launched on the consoles so has some excuse at the resolution limitation, can't say the same for the Evil Within though.

Was day one buy now I'll pick up in sale. Dev saying you can unlock frame rate but night run into issues, like that's going to make me buy it.
They shot themselves in the foot with this one, look how much hate they getting in forums, thank God it came about before released.

Bethesda had better not pull the same **** if they ever release Fallout 4. If they cap it at 30FPS and/or 720P it will break me... I need that game :(

it does say this :-

Luckily the game's developers have included several "debug commands" that will allow you to alter the framerate and aspect ratio. Bethesda doesn't recommend that you change these settings as they aren't supported, though we imagine many people will ignore this advice to get the game running more smoothly.....for Evil within,

but i expect this game will be as buggy as hell, shame because it does look really good

Skyrim on PC accounted for a mere 13% of their sales... they know where their target audience lies. And we aren't it.

Wasn't the new consoles supposed to make it easier to port to the PC? I mean, if that's the case why not allow us to make use of our 4k, surround, 144hz etc?

Not too worried with Bethesda games, as they tend to allow modding. It's the others and if they follow suit :(
