Will UKIP win its first seat in parliament tonight?

Just becuase someone has a genuine concern, that differs from your own opinion, doesn't make them a "bad" or "objectionable" type of person that you dismiss out of hand due to a differing view.

I do like how, presumably because I have judged the position you stand in, that I dismiss others view out of hand.

I haven't, and I dont. Carry on misinterpretating my words. :)

fact is they didn't come as predicted by UKIP, yes it's possible for them to come but then its possible for the other 480 or so million European member state citizens to come also.

I'm surprised they didn't feature a poster saying "480 million Eurpeans want your jobs" or some such rubbish.

It is about as accurate as headline of "46.1 million drunken Brits ready to stag party in Bucharest this weekend" would be.

Yet the masses are lapping UKIP's words up and can't see past such exaggerations.

There's nothing actually inaccurate about that poster, the entire population of those countries are now free to come here under the EU's freedom of movement. Whether they choose to is another matter but the point is as an EU member we can't stop them if they all decide to.

But nothing stops 65million people form going to Romania so by that logic the UK might half in population:eek:

It's totally inaccurate to say that there's nothing we can do about it unless we leave the EU though. Other EU countries placed initial restrictions on immigration from the newer members. We were one of the few countries who didn't.

UKIP, like most far-right parties, are a party of fear.

It's also movement set around political self implosion like all classic separatist organisations (IRA, ETA etc). Its only target is to provide referendum on EU membership. The moment such referendum is organised, the only reason for the party to exist is gone.

Farage says UKIP could hold balance of power in 2015

If Farage holds the balance of power, what will his conditions be for forming a coalition?

No other party will agree to EU exit without a referendum, and the tories are already offering that.

The libs and labour will outright refuse to any negotiation on the EU, so that rules them out.

It begs the question, what is the point of UKIP?

A protest vote against a Tory boy, a flim-flammer, and someone who went back on their word. Or a typically passive aggressive way of saying "I want this country to be like I remember it when I was growing up." Much as it pains me to say, little to no foreigners.

Our country will no longer be financially viable until our standard of living has been reduced to that of the poorest nation in the EU.
The EU seems to have no limits.

I'm no economist, but isn't this going to happen regardless of our EU membership, being that we now live in a global economy?

British businesses are already very willing to import foreign labour and services to reduce their costs, so there are less jobs for people in this country and less money being spent here. Allegedly because we have various "skills shortages", but more honestly because it costs more to employ Brits.

The great Indian IT outsourcing experiment being just one example.

So (and please correct me if wrong), won't wages gradually normalise over the whole world until we're all roughly living at the same standard? Perhaps not next year, but in a couple decades, no?

Banksy nailed it about Clacton tbh!

It's not far off now, at least for professional and skilled jobs. We're already bring some IT roles back from India due to wage parity. In fact, India has now started outsourcing some of it's IT roles to Romania and Hungary!

The sooner we have a one world government the better imho, then we can all stop worrying about how different we are and get on with coming to terms with how we're all the same.

I'm personally ecstatic about the results and will be heading to Rochester and Strood in the next couple of weeks to help with the campaign :)

GO UKIP!

Oh and did anyone catch Question Time on Thursday?? The BBC is going to get it's comeuppance one day for it's obvious bias!

The problem with a "One world government" is...!

What do you do if it is a bad one???

In some ways I miss the cold war days!

There was then several alternative ways that the world might work.

It seems that today there is no longer any choice.

I am not convinced that we are better off as a result!

India outsource call centres to Cambodia too.

The higher up the ladder you go, the more parity there is. For the top jobs in the world, it doesn't really matter what country you are in at all any more, especially if you are considering spending power rather than raw salary.

It will take a long time for it to catch up for the low paid jobs though.

looks like whoever made that poster wiki'ed the population for Romania and Bulgaria and added them together

The Tories will not allow a referendum.

They'll make their promises and once they are back in power we'll spend the next 5 years being told that the "time is not right"

Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

Who here thinks the promised referendum is guaranteed?

good the last thing this country needs is the future of our international relations and economy put in the hands of sun readers. Anyone who thinks being out of the EU would lead to anything but the UK being left in the dark by the rest of the world is deluded. We punch above our weight as it is. The Americans and the whole of Europe have told us its idiotic and we are on our own if it happens.
