New build incoming.

I usually go for X80s, i.e. I have had 3 x 680s at one point, 2 x 780s etc etc. But this time, with such a price difference between the 980 and the 970, and also the incredible overclocking stories relating to the latter, I wondered whether I could go TriSLI 970s over SLI 980s

PSU is not going to be a problem. And I am debating putting them on a ASUS V and 5930k combo, so lane bandwidth shouldn't be a problem

Thoughts welcome

Cheers

Nice! It's a lovely panel!

I think those ref 980's at 400 notes are a bargain especially when a decent ref 970 is 320!

FPS in BF4 sits around 130-150 with all the bells and whistles, Not seen below 100fps once I don't think!

Wont twisting your CPU cooling pipes like that put unnecessary strain on the CPU block, potentially leading to a leak later down the line?

Around 60c @ 4.4 or 70-75c @ 4.8 - 1.35v.

I bought the Tundra as a stop gap, Looking to build a full wc loop in a few weeks. The Tundra is quite poor overall and very loud with stock fans.

That's a good point, I'll change it around today. Cheers! :)

No worries mate. On my H100i I didn't want to twist the pipes as they appeared quite rigid, but as I've found out with proper custom watercooling, its the barbs/connectors that are normally the issue in the long run due to pipes moving with heat!
