lol, indeed, ideal strategy and compromised strategy are very different things. It was still a one stop strategy, had he been forced to do two stops when otherwise he would have done one it would be a compromised strategy, far from ideal and have cost him an extra 25 seconds in the pits which would have dropped him what, 2 places.
That didn't happen, he lost zero extra time compared to most drivers, and 25 seconds less than some who did two stops. How many top cars did he pass, Bottas... who he did a bit of a dodgy pass on and Bottas was frankly awful in that situation, had he put it up the inside Rosberg may have been kept behind for multiple laps, Rosberg still managed to force him to take avoiding action and pushed him off the track.
It wasn't a bad drive, but this is an odd track where tire deg just didn't really happen except, as usual, to Massa![]()
