*** Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ***

Well i gave in and picked one, if you want a phone that is a sensible size there is no other choice its simply stunning. It has to be the best phone on the market its really that good.

Amazon replacement on the way. Hopefully come tomorrow and wont have any issues.

I must say Amazons return policy is great. New one sent out instantly and 30 days to send the old one back.

You didn't hear it from me but actually, you have as long as you want to send the old one back.

O rly?

I must say the only thing i dislike about the phone is that i can notice the lack of resolution compared with my HTC ONE M7. You can see the pixels if you look too closely which was impossible on the ONE.

Nevermind, im sure i will cope.

Does it have a gap for the magnetic charger?

It says not compatible with Sony charging dock so I'm presuming that it does not have a gap. I should receive it tomorrow so will update. It certainly seems to be the only case right now that provides good all round protection.

I have not even used my caseless z3 yet in fear of dropping it! £290 worth of phone just sitting on my shelf lol

Sick of batting back and too with orange retentions department so what deals have people got on contractswith tthis handset please?
Looked at the green one today in carphone warehouse, it's very nice!

Mine's ordered, should be here on Wednesday :) Switching from my trusty HTC One M7.

Hopefully there will be enough attention generated about the Z3/Z3 Compact battery life to send a message to other manufacturers that it is a pretty big selling point. There is really no point cramming more powerful tech into a phone if it doesn't even last a day.

Also, I may have missed this from earlier posts- does it come with a magnetic charger in the box? Or just a regular micro USB? If not, then what's the verdict on the best magnetic charger to get?

Thanks guys

Where did you order from? Dont think it comes with a magnetic charger. Magnector seems to be the best for about £11

For a change I didn't go sim-free as it would have cost me more. Even cost me less to buy out the rest of my contract and 'refresh' on O2.

E.g.
My contract is £27/month (note only 1Gb data)
Sim free Z3C £344
Over 24 months = £992

Upgrade is £28/month (2Gb data)
Early termination/'Refresh' £81
Over 24 months = £753

I couldn't find any equivalent sim-only plans which come to less than I'm currently paying, or certainly not enough to make it cheaper overall.

Could have got it a few quid cheaper elsewhere via cash back redemption etc, but would have had to faff around a bit more.

I ordered one for the misses aswell.. Wanted to order from Amazon (for better returns), but there was a 1-4 week wait (and £20 more).. Went for Clove, so I get the free case (which she probably wont use) and usb charger.. Also ordered a megnentic charger and 64gb micro sd.. Hopefully she will be happy switching to this from iPhone 4S. :)

We use 4G on Giffgaff (£10), so £590 over 2 years - and most importantly, the option to switch provider if we dont want to keep GG.. I hate buying on contract as I would not want to be stuck with one provider for months if I dont want it.. (burnt myself recently with a 12 month contract with Vodafone on my Samsung S4)

For the first time in ages I haven't felt like getting another phone and my phone lust is satisfied for now. The only thing that will make me is get another phone is that if a pure stock Android phone will come out that has more or less the same battery life as the Z3c but I don't see that happening for now.
