The Evil Within (The master of horror games is back)

I've read as much positive info as I have negative. I'm going to make my own judgement when I get the game on Tuesday.

I absolutely loved RE1 (ignoring the cheesey acting) but found the games lost their way after that.
Please don't cancel on the strength of what I've said,we may have different tastes, you and I and Id feel bad if you missed out on something you'd possibly really have enjoyed.
I'm no games reviewer and I don't claim to be,just giving my own personal opinion.
It's actually starting to grow on me now,but I'm still not getting that absolute classic vibe as from games like The Last of Us or Half Life, Skyrim etc.

Well if you think they lost their way after that, which means you wasn't a fan of RE2 I will have to disregard everything you have said :D

I thought RE2 was pretty good,if I remember more outside locations and not as Haunted house as RE1. After that I didn't enjoy it much. As I said, each to their own. Am hoping to enjoy this game.

This looks pretty intense from the streams I've been watching. The sound and shadows make the whole game look like i would be on the edge of my seat all the time. I think i'm going to pick this up.

This, or Alien Isolation?

A few years ago I would have just got both, but unfortunately I don't get the time now.

I think by looking at both, but playing neither, this may just edge ahead...

Why is it so hard to please people these days...

I am looking forward to it, turning lights off and playing it in bed ooooooooohhhhhhh

There is a great spine chilling feel and the gore is surreal. Having your face mashed through the grated floor like a twisted child forcing a hard lump of Play-Doh through a spaghetti machine is but one of the many painful ends you might meet.
