Just got some GP4000S II in 25c, stuck them on my Zonda's and put them on my 'best bike' which i'm going to use more even if its a bit damp.

The ride is lovely at 80PSI front/85PSI rear. :D

Reynolds Assault SLG's for sale though (carbon 41mm, 25mm wide), to part fund a new bike purchase if anyones interested. Campag and Shimano freehub fitment (60 seconds to swap), Campag (new) pads and Shimano (seen use) brake pads, boxed etc. 600 dry miles only.

Creatine has plenty of research backing up the supposed benefits. As above though, you will get as much or more benefit from sorting out your diet and getting proper rest.

Personally I take creatine as it seems to make a bit of a difference. That and the fact I got a big bag of it that will last me for months.

To be honest, based on the results of all the research that is sitting around, creatine seems a good thing to take even if it's not to get improved performance in a sporting activity.

Creatine arrived today. How much are you taking and when?

Ordered the 25s :)

Good choice :)

I never bothered with a loading phase - there's not really much need for one unless you're desperate to have some kind of "effect" as soon as possible. Loading sometimes gives people stomach upset too.

I have experimented with higher and lower dosages over the last 9 or so months and have slowly lowered my dosage to a point where I believe it's still doing something but it's probably lower than a lot of people would go for. For me this is just a single (heaped) scoop of the stuff (using the MyProtein scoop) in the morning. This works out at about 4g daily.

Higher dosages (I tried all the way up to about 10g or so regularly for a while) caused a bit of bloating for me.

Interested in one of the sets of pads, if you can tell me how I identify they'll fit my bike! (Carrera Virtuoso 2014) :o

The packet says 4 (5g) servings a day for the first 5 days, then pre/post workout and twice a day (breakfast and evening meal) on rest days.

Seems a lot but guess I'll try it and see what happens.

Today I'm trying to resist going to the canteen and getting chocolate, the fact our canteen is in a different building on site and charges 70p a bar helps sometimes!

If you read around online (and ask in the Gym Rats thread) I suspect you'll be recommended a lower dosage but there's no harm in trying what the packet suggests :) Worst that will happen is that you'll not absorb the extra and it'll just pass through your system.

Despite having an entire pot of humous for lunch I'm tempted to go get a snack too. Must resist :p

1 pot of humous?! No crackers/bread?

I just demolished:
  • 2 Plums
  • Breburn Apple (my fave!)
  • gluten free bagel (they were cheap...) with chicken tikka filler
  • banana yogurt
  • go ahead apple fruit bake

A fairly normal lunch for me, probably not that balanced but I'm not hungry now lol ;)

Two pitta bread and 2/3rds of a pack of tomatoes to go with the humous. Though tbh I like the stuff so much that I probably could happily just eat it with a spoon :p

I've just done a ride on my new 25 winter tyres and they were a lot more comfortable and felt faster than my 23 lightweight race tyres.

Q: All things considered, which is the faster tyre : 23 or 25?

I think the general idea is that in terms of tyre deformation and the like 25mm is faster. The only issue is that they are going to be slightly heavier.

They are for carbon rims and i'm selling their lot together. :p

Lol my bad! <Bannatyne impression> "I'm out."

I'm the same, humous is amazing! There's a red chilli (I think) one available from Asda that's my current fave! Only tend to eat it with salad/BBQ's though (so no more for a while) :(

When it comes to brake pads, how do I know what I've got (Tektro dual pivot callipers) and is there anything else I need to look for? Current ones (came with the bike so they've done well) are getting older and now the wet-rim weather is here my stopping power needs a boost! Getting quite a bit of noise and 'dust' from them (smearing/splashing all over my white frame now):rolleyes:

Thanks Roadie, found out they can only be done with a special machine, so have to take it to an auto technician/key cutter as the chip needs to be programmed, apparently this came into effect from around 2004
