I have just loaded Battlefield 4 for the first time in a long while and noticed a fan getting really loud, so I shut game down and checked temps and my Grphx card was at 90 degrees c its at stock settings. Iv been on wow on and off all day and had no problems. anyone got any suggestions?

its simple if you take your time, unplug the fan header from the circuit board and undo four spring loaded screws that hold on the cooler

wipe off the old paste and use some non conductive mx4 paste, ohh and remember to plug the fan back in !!

You would never get a problem with World of Warcraft, it uses about 40% gpu power in that game, BF 4 was always at 99% load when I last played it on my HIS IceQ 7950.

Also be careful changing the heatsink paste, there are thermal pads underneath too if you get them dirty or dusty you will likely ruin them and you will need to replace them, as they cool VRMs on the card as far as I can remember.

You may get away with just blowing out the dust from the heatsink by removing the plastic section, and not the metal heatsink itself. They should also not be at 90 Celcius, even with 1050/1400 overclock! Mine had the same overclock as that, and never went past 80 celsius unless it was on the hotter summer days of this year.

Were you running any additional power limit ?
Mine only nudge 90 with + 20%, if I don't then they are a good 10 degrees cooler.

I have done the paste was extra carful and its made no difference so I have bit the bullet and purchased a new card as I wanted one anyways.
Thanks for the advice :)
