Hi guys,

using a 42" LG 42LA620V at the moment. However the sound isnt amazing, I am in a very small room at the moment so don't have space for a full cinema surround sound set ...

I watch a ton of movies so I am looking for a decent'ish sound bar for around £150?

I dont mind if the sound bar is longer than the TV etc :)

Link to TV Model incase it matters -http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-42LA620V-Widescreen-discontinued-manufacturer/dp/B00BS55NB2

Any help? recommendations etc?

Thanks!!

Is HDMI necessary? Ideally want to be able to turn Xbox one and TV on and control the volume? is it a case of plug TV into soundbar then anything going to TV is controlled through the soundbar?

A little out of your range but I got the Yamaha YSP-1400 recently for £250. Excellent sound bar. It has projected surround sound. The sound bar is synched with your normal remote so it turns on/off and volume up/down with the tv remote, hdmi not necessary.

delta0 - The Yamaha YSP-1400. I was looking at this soundbar how good is it for music exc. The bass ok and is it quite big? Thanks

It is bigger than some units as it has two subs built into it. Yamaha do sound quality best. Music is great especially if you turn on the music sound setting. You can connect to it using bluetooth too. Bass isn't floor shaking, you can attach a separate sub if you want more.

I'll look around see where is cheapest, I don't mind buying second hand tbh!

I'm looking for something too.

Got my eye on either the YAMAHA YAS-103

Or Maxell MXSP-SB3000 Soundbar which is a little different and more of a bass but the reviews appear very good. And has 3HDMI in with ARC out.

My mate is selling one of these for around £200, he's had it 2 months and is moving to a full 5.1 setup..

Reckon it's a good buy? it's in mint conditon..? I'm also using a 2013 LG tv so have the LG sync

I've got the 4530 version and am very pleased with it.
I didn't do much of a comparison job with other bars (as it was the only bar thin enough to fit under my TV), but it is world's apart from the in built speakers (especially if you switch back by accident). The LG sync would make life a bit simpler on the remote front too I expect.

Not sure how £200 used is but if he looks after his kit, it's probably a decent buy.
