Got an email before from Facebook telling me someone tried to log in from London using Firefox and Windows 7.

I checked and it's a legitimate email so I changed my email address and password straight away.

Who would do this and second I don't know a living soul in London apart from my cousin who is 50 years old and doesn't even know what Facebook is.

Can this somehow be brought up to legal action tracing the person who did this ?

Even more impressive then :D.

I doubt you'd be able to take any legal action.

I assume this email warning is 2 step authentication? If so they clearly know your Facebook password. Time to change it methinks.

Changed my email associated with the account and password seconds after I got the message

I'd love to know what goes through the heads of these sickos though, Stealing someones identity should be a heavily illegal offense, More so than it is now.

I'd love to know though how the hell this sicko got hold of my details as the email associated with the account was only used on facebook and no where else.

Having your FB account hijacked and the word Sicko don't quite go together in my use of the English language.

Having something stolen with personal information, Pictures, Messages to family and friends, Extremely personal data is something only someone with questionable mental health would do.

Could be a 3/4g thing, it can looks like your logging in from all over...

I Only ever log into FB on my rig at home.

Questionable mental health is deffo an issue here, ill agree. :D

I've had this before. Some strange person was try to log-in from the states

I just changed my password and I've never had a problem since.

The email is to say that somebody tried to logon, they don't have your password, however tried a fair few times to get in.

Regarding facebook security, I set my account to permanently delete after I created it to speak to Family whilst I was away, on the last 2 hours before it was set to delete, somebody from America had managed to login to my account and start randomly messaging people.

He would never have known my account existed as it hasn't shown on Facebook for 30 days and my password was impossible to guess even for a machine! Was weird, as my account had nothing on anyway besides messages and full security to stop people searching for me.

Morale, I don't trust Facebooks 'security'.
