Huge Edit - thought you were talking about Iracing.
Okay. Are you a part of the wmd forum? If so how does everyone feel about the game so far? Any goss?
What are your thoughts on it?
Which will be the best platform to play this on?
Can you tell us anything about career mode?
What are the maximum number players in a MP session?
What are you enjoying the most?
I think it has a good physics model, it's different to other racing sims, but all of the race sims I've ever palates have felt different from one another. Some will like it and some won't. But with the amount of assists you can turn on and off I'm sure most players can find a balance they are happy with.
I think in console terms the PS4 will be the best platform. If it was running as well on Xbox one then I'm sure you'd have seen footage by now.
As for the PC version, as it stands you'll need a very beefy PC to run the game. I'm using an i5 4690, 8GB Ram and a GTX 690 and I can't run the game on a triple screen set up without turning a lot of settings down. Whether this will change between now and release is unknown. I'm sure it will be more optimised come release day.
Career mode as far as I know will allow you to go from karts to F1 with all types of cars in between apart from rallying. I believe the F1 car will be a single licences car and probably not a current one, as Codemasters has the full F1 licence. I think if you've played the NFS Shift series the career presentation will be familiar, but it's not something I've tried so far in the game.
Off the top of my head there is a car or cars from F1, GP2, Formula Gulf, Formula Ford, 2 or 3 Kart formulas, DTM, LMP 1 & 2, GT3 & 4 and NASCAR. Plus super cars past and present, standard road cars, classic F1 and track day cars in the game at the moment. But there's not an official complete list of release day cars or tracks.
I think 16 players is the MP maximum on consoles, but I'm not sure.
I don't use the forum much as there's just too much to sift through now.
It's hard to say what I like. I've only ever drove in practice mode for testing the game. I've done a few races with AI, but for most of the game's development the AI hasn't been great.
My prediction for the game is it'll be similar to the Shift series but with a proper physics and tire model and much better support for steering wheels. It will also have at least a year in any GT game for the PS4, so if you like driving games/race sims there's really nothing else on PS4 for a good while yet.
