final fantasy 13 series coming to pc

That's fixed now :)

Really? Guess I'll update and give it another try, thanks.

What is this deactivate/activate thing? Do I need to purchase this?

Deactivate stops the overrides being applied when you open a game without the need for you to close GeDoSaTo.

Edit:
Thanks Kelt, looks fine now :).
Using it yesterday meant having no radar and also only 1280x720 of the 3840x2160 visible on screen was properly focused and the rest was blurry. Now I can play it how it should have been made :).

Updated GeDoSaTo from 0.14.1501 to 0.14.1555 and it is no longer stable. Back to 720p for now until the new issues get fixed.

Still a few teething problems here and there. For once, the shadows look a bit jaggy and the game won't even start if I have multiple displays set up.

Looks nice though. Seems a bit easy so far gameplay wise..like a interactive story than a game.

Yeh, FF7 it ain't!

hmm it's kinda growing on me. Now that the battle system is finally starting to open up a bit (I've got paradigms and can actually earn exp/choose classes now) it's a lot less boring.

I'm getting random CTD's every couple hours though. Thankfully the game practically throws savepoints at you like wasps to a picnic.

The game, and battle system doesn't really open up until the 20hr mark. Take everything up to then as a massive tutorial and intro.

Whoa, well I guess that depends on how long you take. I've been taking it pretty chill, I'm at 5 hours played and I'm only on Ch4 :p

So is this game a decent place to start with the FF series? It has incredibly mixed reviews; some saying it's good, whilst others saying it's one of the worst FF games ever made, which makes the decision hard lol. I don't care about the fact that it's fixed to 720p or a 60gb download, from a pure gameplay/story standpoint is it worth it? Many people are saying it's a huge corridor simulator which I don't mind, and that it takes a while for the game to actually pick up and become remotely compelling.

The reason I'm so concerned is because I want a good starting point for the series. I pretty much have the choice between the games which are currently available on Steam (7,8,13) but I have no clue. 7 is supposed to be incredibly good, but I'd prefer to start off with something more modern I think and 13 looks stunning visually.

I can't get through the constant interruption of game-play with cutscenes and the very basic 90s combat system that is the initial skillset. So many people throw around that 20hr mark and I simply can't put myself through what would be 2 weeks entire free time to hope it gets good enough for me :( I really can't enjoy the whole 3 enemies for the first 2 hours, run into it, short break, fight by literally spamming enter, then an outro to the fight, then a score screen, then a loot screen.

I love FF but to me it feels like time to move on, I've missed a few iterations but I didn't expect them to keep using the same old systems.

Go for VII. It's the best, and most straightforward, gameplay wise and 8 and 13 both get generally mixed responses from people. I'd also suggest FFIV which is on Steam too.

You can also use this to make FFVII look a bit better.

How long does it take to mod FF7 for the HD-like version? Just saw the video was 23 minutes long lol. I think I may as well go for 7 as it does actually look pretty nice with that mod, but would it take anything away from the game as a first-time player? (experience wise)

Shouldn't take any longer than downloading the additional 40GB FF13 would take to download :p.

It shouldn't detract too much from the experience. I think you can customise the level of modding anyway with that tool. If you want the vanilla experience you could just select the resolution and MP3 music mods and it'll basically be a slightly prettier version of the PS1 version.

Well, this game is consuming every spare moment I have at the moment. Really enjoying it and wasnt expecting to like it this much.

This game does not feel or play like a final fantasy game its way to linear, barely any side missions, no minigames. Its a good game but an insult the the FF series. About 18 hours into it. I will complete it but cant say I will play it again unlike other FF games.
