One job LED to another.

While I had steps out decided to clean cooker hood - We have one with the rectangular SS mesh filters and they are a PITA to clean - I put them on some newspaper and rub Swafega into them - leave a bit then wash in hot soapy water.

Anyone else got a easier and better idea - Was thinking about just buying new ones till saw price.

How about putting them in a cat litter tray and soaking them in paraffin.

Deepio spray, it's a commercial product so unless you have access to a wholesaler you might have to order it online.

I usually just use washing up liquid poured on neat and worked in gently with a washing up brush. Leave it on a few minutes then turn the filter over and do the other side in the same way then rinse it off thoroughly with lots of very hot water.

I did once soak them in Fairy liquid and poured boiled water over them - managed to warp the plastic handle and locking tab fittings.
