Long shot....does your number plate end in KMW?

Genuine question - why is a number plate sensitive information? They're yellowed out on Street View. On another forum years ago, I posted a picture of a number plate because it had LOL on it, but a mod told me to photoshop out the first part. Is it personal-identifiable information?

You post a number plate of a 207 grey, another 207 grey driver gets himself your plates, your tax your insurance your mot show his car as roadworthy on all police cars and cams.
Then he does a spate of drive offs :)
They knock your door.

The mod just sounds overzealous.

I'm a Google Photographer and you have to blur every single license plate from Business View's, in the same way as Streetview. For that, I believe it's just general sensitivity of being able to place someone at a given time and place.

For Joe Public it's meaningless, but technically a car can be linked back to a person, either via DVLA, or just knowing a person and their car. Without the reg there's no hard hard proof that that's actually their car.
