Free solar panel installation

Can you make it so your house gets fed with your solar first.. then takes any additional drawn power from the mains as normal? Rather than just switching or using different sockets?

That is how it's fitted and works, no silly contracts.

Of course panels will improve and fall in price. Doesn't really matter though. You enter when you feel it's right for you. Most panels are guaranteed to be 80% efficient after 25-30years. So you lose less than 1% efficiency a year. They won't suddenly stop working in 25 years either.

I have 17 panels installed by these and during the day they 'trickle charge' meaning as long as there is light there is something been generated.

If you turn on devices (quantity panel dependant) you have a 'reduced' cost of electricity during the day. When it gets dark you don't benefit from it.

Over the summer I managed to have my electricity bills down to £15.00 a month for few months! (2 bedroom, semi) I was doing washing on a weekend when it was sunny.

No heating was required so never bothered to turn on gas much. I haven't really had them a year so need to see what happens this winter.

They were a free install and indeed exactly what fuzz said is the terms and conditions.

My parents were really lucky when then had solar panels installed as they just had them fitted in time before the payment levels dropped and the fact i told one company to go away after they tried to persuade them to have them fitted for free ( also claimed the roof wasn't perfect as it suffered from shadows hitting due to one telegraph pole 30ft away even though it's South facing with no shadows hitting it at anytime of the year.)

They paid £10k for the system approx 3 years ago for a 14 panel 4.5kwh system which so far has generated on average £2k per year payback plus reduced electricity bills.

The only people to gain from a free system are those that own your roof plus you are likely to have issues selling your house.

I have been approached by A Shad Greener also and very interested in the scheme.

However after reading this I am straying away. I'm lad I read this before I signed!

My mortgage has a clause that stipulates you must own the solar pv system our right or the mortgage is void! Always check things like this before ever saying yes!
