** OcUK First Preview of Exciting new Enclosure from Lian Li **

.

As for this case, I have to agree with most of the comments. Cooling is very questionable, but with a bit of refinement, it could be pretty good for lounge gaming with an eye on looks.

yes its cooling wont be good enough for any heavy gaming, mind you, it has no room for SLI anyway, so there you go !!!!!

it's either the Phanteks or one of the Antecs...that Rhymes :D

Love the look of these cases. Would make an awesome display case.

Only thing i'd like to see is the option to close off the sides with dust filters to keep it all clean! That or being able to easily remove the glass top to get a can of compressed air to it every now and then.

rjk - Any kind of word from Lian-Li on timescale of these? I think they could be great, would love to have one for the HTPC (which atm is ATX, so I'm glad they are exploring ATX/mATx/mITX variants).

Also glad they have kept an Optical drive, still not sure I could go without one on the HTPC.

I like the concept of it as ive never seen anything like that before, but with the front open the way it is that will fill with dust in no time at all.The other obvious issues have been pointed out by other people, fair play to them though for having a go at something radical and different.

no good at all, too small and cramped inside and thus far too hot in Summer, unless you leave the glass lid off........... if you're going down this road of something totally different from a normal style of PC then the Inwin D Frame is by far the best

the inwin D frame seem to me targeted at a different market though, the aesthetic is very different to these, which Lian-Li seem to be pushing as desk/wall accessories.

yes, just be careful because this enclosure wont take :-

1...a decent size cpu cooler
2...SLI cards

because of this it's no good for any of us.....in the last 3 months this enclosure hasn't improved at all, it's useless, i could have sorted it out in 10 mins flat, God knows what Lian are up to recently because their PCs look rubbish now.... they have no design skill or flair at all.............cooler height = 85mm flipping heck !!!!!!

the Inwin is great for cooling but useless if you want loads of hard drives... what about Dust ?...........well my pc is open sided too so i'm used to it.

Mal X - no, but neither will a huge number of cases?

And most of us aren't running SLI cards. The lack of ability to mount an AiO is concerning, though, as that would be the obvious solution.

That said, I do agree this looks to be a waste of time: "exciting" apparently means "hot, dusty, and inconvenient" to Lian-Li. I like the concept, but the execution is terrible.
