The last straw was playing borderlands at a lovely 150fps avg and then boom. Blue screen, Square pixels and lines over the screen then PC restarts. It's sadly the last thing I will take now on my AMD cards, For days I've had nothing but problems and it really stresses you out considering the amount you paid for the hardware. Am a huge AMD fan, Don't get me wrong, Love them but considering how many issues am having on AMD compared to what I had on my 780TI (Sold the 780TI cause of the insane deal on the 295x but kinda regretting that now)

Anyway, I just want a plug and play GPU with none of this software conflicts, issues and stress.

My question is now. Considering my set up =

295X2
290X Refence

Would I be better getting
980
or
2 X 970

PSU is 1200w so anything goes, Cheers.

If yo don't want any messing around, then stick with a single gpu solution, not SLI.

You haven't said what res you game at. A single 970 will probably be enough for non 4k gaming.

3 X 1080P Asus 1MS Gaming screens.

SLI is something I prefer, Moreso with the upcoming Star citizen etc. Am tempted to look into the SLI 980 with EK blocks and bridge...

Gezz, Those are very very close. Taking 2 is even better. Guess am sold on 2 x 970s and saves me some bucks.

The only problem is there seems to be a lack of waterblocks for them? :(

Mm, My CPU is going to have 3 rads over it for awhile then haha.

Thanks for the help arc, Think I'll be selling up on my AMDs and getting two 970s. See how we do on these puppies.

But most of the 970s come with two fans, I was expecting one core and one ram cooling no?

Nope :p
Both those fans would be linked to the core temps, what i meant is the ram wouldn't have any sinks, so the cooling they would get would be minimal. a lot of the coolers have ram cooling, some dont. I was going on a whim that his never had any form of cooling ;)
