Why must Google continually break YouTube, mess around with the design, force changes upon us?

Why is Google+ required to comment? Why does the design get changed every month? It's confusing to say the least. You used to be able to click a time in a comment and it would go to that point in the video. Now, a new tab is opened - why?

The video content is still good IMO (at least on the technology part of YT) but YouTube itself is dire these days.

Is it just me who thinks this?

I agree with you on many points, however there are always reasons for each thing (surprisingly).

As for the clicking a timestamp opening a new tab, I've noticed this on Opera recently, but now it's working again, leading me to believe it might be browser dependent?

Realistically, I'm getting a significant amount of free content, so complaining seems a bit unfair :p.

True. I can't get into my original Youtube account anymore because they insisted on making things more 'secure' so I've had to open another one. The suits and ****wits responsible for the decicion and approving the final balls up should be condemned to an eternity in hell stuck in front of a computer trying to get into their Youtube accounts or trying to set one up and have to go through a process that goes on for eternity.
The same with the moron who thought of automated phone services. They should suffer a similar fate but have to keep pressing on the key pad with each key leading to more options. They'd get a break every now and then by being put on hold for a thousand years and having to listen to static and be kept in a very long queue.
They won't like it being done to them and there'd be a massive investigation, federal charges and CIA questioning if anybody hacked into GOOGLE's servers and messed about wouldn't there?

To this day, I still can't comment on Youtube videos despite following all their instructions about linking accounts and such. This means I can't answer questions posted on my monetized channel.

Do they give a ****? No they don't!

YouTube has been especially bad for me lately. Far more quality drops, pausing etc than I'm used to, and videos never seem to cache properly now so if you skip back to a bit you've already watched it has to load it again.

The YouTube app on the iPad is so bad. Constant buffering and quality drops but if I use the mobile website, or a 3rd party YouTube app, I get no such issues.

I hate how it loads. It doesn't load the whole thing. It often stops loading completely.
Yes. I agree. Each iteration seems more cluttered.

Much nicer on a phone and chromecast

Yeah, agree here. Annoying how much of the interwebs Google own and how they try and integrate it all. ****s me off no end tbh.

I don't give a **** what it looks like. I'm there for the videos. It could have epilepsy inducing animated tile background gifs and 72px comic sans font for all I care and I'd still use it because the videos get full screened anyway. I have a duff gmail account that is only used for youtube / google plus too. Only thing it does is send me notifications when channels upload videos.

I was initially annoyed when they made a Google account a requirement for commenting, but I found that my use of Youtube was improved by not being able to comment or see anyone else's comments.

I'm surprised that Google isn't making free use of Youtube a lot worse in order to leverage market dominance for increased profit. It's worse than it was, but you can still watch videos well enough without paying for them with money or information.

Whoever decided to include the autoplay playlist feature needs firing - no matter how many times I disable it and/or follow the steps to "permanently" disable it a few days later it resets to default retarded behaviour.

It hasn't cached videos properly in years. Every time you manually change position in the vid, it has to re-buffer from there. Such a pain

I can't comment in Firefox for some reason but can in Google Chrome, what a coincidence :p
