spec me a city for a weekend break

It is my other halves birthday coming up soon and I'm thinking a long weekend away. What city south of Birmingham do you recommend? It must be reasonably priced and have a few nice restaurants!

My initial thought was Bath, is it nice there?

Bath is nice. Probably one of the best cities for tourism. Alternatively somewhere like Oxford? Probably Bath would be the better bet though.

London. Or, fly to Budapest with someone like WizzAir. I'm there right now, it's a brilliant city. I've been to Tallinn, Bratislava, Warsaw, Prague, Krakow and Budapest on city breaks and so far I reckon Budapest is my favourite.

Yeah in UK as not been too many places here and not London as I dont like it at all there (too much tourists) and we will be going there for christmas shopping anyways at some point (oh the joy)
How much would going to Budapest etc be? We just want a nice weekend trip as not been anywhere or done anything since august

Bath is a great little city break. Lots to see and do.

I hate the one way system that surrounds it though!

Interesting, i was a little dissapointed with Budapest. The old part over the river was nice but i dunno, just felt a bit dissapointed in it for some reason.
