DPD woes

Wasn't able to take delivery of my 5820k on Friday as I was at a funeral so arranged for delivery to take place today. Received the text this morning informing me of the delivery window, all good - nobody turns up.

Check tracking, says it's been delivered and signed for . Called up DPD, turns out it's been lost amongst a bulk order delivered to a large warehouse, they don't know where it is!

So errr yeah, fun times :( Shame as DPD have generally been pretty good in this area. Was a little annoyed as they asked me to chase it up with OcUK before they can start trying to locate it?!

Anyone else experienced something similar?

Been by far the best courier service I've had dealings with... but ultimately, with 100,000s of parcels each day, some will go missing / get delayed.

Yeah had my first bad experience with DPD last week - usually they've been flawless for me.

First delivery they carded and legged it (assuming they didn't even have the parcel).

Second "missed" delivery no one even bothered - no card left, I'd been standing in the porch waiting for a lift to work for several minutes either side of the time they'd said they tried and the picture uploaded to the site while of the correct house was blatantly the wrong day - picture was in the dry but it had been raining heavily all morning.

Tried to re-arrange delivery only to get confirmation and then nothing happen followed by it going back to "held at depot" with no explanation - trying to contact them was told it had already been sent back to the sender who so far hasn't received it (though there is still a little time yet) but I'm suspicious it has got lost somewhere.

EDIT: Wonder if I've fallen foul of the same "issue" that has affected you :S

Yep, DPD are terrible in my experience. On one occasion they managed to collect a laptop from me, then deliver it to a random person for no apparent reason instead of returning it to the repair centre for RMA. Baffling.

Can't you ask for where the 'Large Warehouse' is and ask them for your parcel?

I don't think they're quite sure which 'Large Warehouse' it is - they mentioned a few companies and even then didn't sound convincing :(

Rroff - what a nightmare, hope you manage to get things sorted!

Good luck with getting it sorted. OcUK are usually fairly prompt with CS.

I find DPD drivers are rude and aggressive.

I've found most of mine to be fairly pleasant - guess it does depend a lot on which your local depot is though.

This really.
Mistakes happen and with the millions of parcels they carry each day some will go missing. Fortunately you've ordered from here which means you'll have nothing to worry about.

If you understood the self employment terms most of the drivers were working under and the constant stop watch they have against them you would probably be pretty angry as well.

Not good.

DPD have generally been far better than most others but it really depends on the area and more importantly the person making the delivery.

There are some people who just don't do their jobs with a passion no more.

Contact OCUK I am sure they'll do their best to get your CPU to you asap.

Already spoken to OcUK who have said they'll speak to DPD - could be some time before this is resolved though :(

Unfortunately, this is one of the downsides of ordering online. You'll find it doesn't happen often but can catch you out when you most need or want something.

The experience here has always been positive as have been their drivers. Still top of my list of delivery companies.

With other couriers bad things happen about 1 delivery in 3 :( with DPD so far its been more like 1 delivery in 200 :S

I don't think I've ever even had a parcel from royal mail or parcel force that has been on the first day of the delivery window - 90% of my DPD deliveries have been within the first 30 minutes of the delivery window on the first possible day.

Contact OcUK, ask them to send a replacement while DPD look for the missing item. End of chat.

Where are you, Timbuktu?
