I thought everyone knew this, same as the Apple have 5000 iPhone 6s that they are giving away as the packages are opened and can't be sold.

Sick of people posting these 'free' vouchers etc. if you like a fake post

Yeah I know scam might be old however there are some older people who use facebook that are not aware of the scam, to which I am more thinking of vulnerable older rather than younger people. Also yes magnolia I noticed that too.

Probably, but when I know someone that was trusting enough to fall for it, I thought maybe other forumites might find it useful, or if they know someone that may not realise it is a scam.

Tony Williams will be pleased with this thread, I bet he was sitting creating unfathomable amounts of facebook accounts for an eternity of free Tesco shopping.

Dr Kevin Curran, who is a computing expert at the University of Ulster, says that scams that operate through social networking sites are on the rise.

This is because email filters are so good now that scammers don't often have success in that field.

No, this is because stupid people occupy social media, posting pictures of their pets or children because their life is so ridiculously empty and dull they have nothing better to do but that and send you requests for "generic facebook game"

These morons fall for anything.

He posts, on a social messageboard, about computers, on the internet.

You mean company X are not giving away thousands of pounds for free?

Next you'll be telling me that companies posting pictures of 5 x iPads to giveaway are scams as well.
