Hi,

Looking at spending cash and wondering what fans I should be getting to replace the stock ones for my H440. Quiet ones would be nice, as this is supposed to be a very quiet case. The problem is keeping the case cool as the vents at the front and top are quite small.

Anyone have any recommendations? Looking for 3 at the front and 1 at the back, the top section will have a AIO cooler for the CPU (I'm guessing just some SP's from corsair for the rad?).

Thanks,

Grady

I use 5 Arctic cooling F12s on my rads in an h440. They do an amazing job (better than Noctua NF-P12s) and aren't too loud at 1000rpm. Though at stock they will be very audible.

I also recommend removing the mesh from the front and top panels. Makes a huge difference to how much air can get to the fans.

Also if you are using an AIO exhausting through the roof consider turning the rear 140mm into an intake to provide cold air for that rad.

Im using the noctua redux fans which do me very well. Audible at full voltage but once wearing headphones or in game you dont notice them at all as theyre at a constant speed with the fan controller

@ Disco P - Can you take a couple of pictures? Just want to check to see how it looks afterwards!

Hmm, will look at both the noctua redux and the F12's. Looking for as quite as possible ideally however, as I've a hot hot 290 inside it might be wise to allow for some noise as that thing will only make it.

Same here running Artic F12's as case fans, they push a lot of air in there, would highly recommend. Heres some pics.

I have no idea what the F12s are optimised for. They are cheap and they work really well. None of that fancy marketing BS.

Thanks disco & born.

Don't think I could live without the grills! I've the red and black case. So you'd see the red parts underneath! Tempted to try some SP ones... I was going to get some for a mates build anyway as he has an aio cooler.

F12's seem to have better airflow than most static pressure fans, making them ideal to push air into the case

Fan Speed:
1,350 RPM (@ 12V DC)
900 RPM (@ 7V DC)
650 RPM (@ 5V DC)
Air Flow:
74 CFM / 126 m³/h (@ 1,350 RPM)
Noise Level:
0.3 Sone (@ 1,350 RPM)

I have 3 NZXT FX120 LB fans in the front, set to medium (they make an awful racket on full, but is an option when more airflow is required). I also have 2 Akasa Piranhas attached to an H80 pulling air in from the back and 3 Bitfenix Spectre Pros exhausting out the top.

Keeps the system temps cool, and the processor is kept nice and cool as the H80 is pulling ambient air from outside the case.
