So my work colleague is looking to buy a new pc.
Budget is around 1.1k can go up to 1.2k with peripherals and monitor.
Not heavily focused on gaming but more a smart powerful work station.
Needs to look not over the top (e.g. loads of leds) but a have a clean look.
Needs to be intel based, as this price range hopefully a i7 and a 250gb ssd.

Thank you in advance, i know you guys can come up with some excellent specs.

What type of programs will he be using? Any specific ones regularly?

Its all good saying "he needs an i7" but we do know what hardware suits certain software too, he may even be better off with a Xeon.. Or he may need 32gb of RAM...

Hi all thanks your such a quick response, i was only thinking a i7, open to ideas. Unsure on if he uses particular programs, he said he does a lot of multitasking.

(sorry if this sounds rude, i don't mean it too) Its hard to give other ideas if we don't know what he's using it for.

Multitasking could be rendering 3 videos at once, while doing some animation or it could just be listening to music while playing a game and on facebook..

Those are too completely different scenario's, one needing a PC costing like £1.5k-£2k and the other £500-£600..

Workstations normally imply he is doing something design based, either animation, simulation, CAD or video editing.. Do you know if this is the case?
